Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Packers beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Bourne made some plays early? Where the hell was he the rest of the game? They need to cut it with this Bourne drama and just let him play. IDFAG if the other guy can "block".

Proud of the team, I’m normally not into moral victories but the Pats were undermanned with injuries and third string QB, they gave it all they could.

The Lions visit Foxboro next week with a terrible defense.

The runs were the right call. It's good 2nd guessing because it didn't work but at that stage, you can't put the ball in Zappe's hands...too many bad things potentially could happen.

I didn't hear you complaining when we were running it down their throats in the 2nd half.
I agree with you, but I wish they didn't make it so obvious. Romo even said, "same formation..."

after the 1st down run for 5 yards, everyone was expecting another run. That's when you hit a quick pass and go for the win. GB was sold out for another run. If it doesn't work, still just 3rd and 5.
What if Zappe throws an int on that second down play?

That's why you can't make that call with a kid that has never played before.

They ran out of pass playcalls very quickly with Zappe, quite understandably. If he'd had just one more go-to play in his back pocket it could have given us the W in OT.

Heck of an effort, so so close. Would’ve been the upset of the weekend. I think I would’ve rather lost letting Zappa try to win it. But alas, it is what it is. Showed a TON of heart & scared the bejeezus out of GB. Moral victories are useless, but that’s got to be an effort they can be proud of.

BB + Matty P = most safe offense ever.
In OT you get a gift like having the ball on the 50, you can't play it safe there. That's where they need to surprise the D.
They were getting open. A 1st down play action would have been the place to do it. I would have even kicked the FG from 63. That's a no brainer. You knew Rogers was going to go down the field at that point.

If it didn't work, it was the wrong call. In particular, the second run was a very bad call. The Packers were all over that. That would have been the perfect time for play action. Take a chance. What's the worst thing that can happen... oh wait - it did. :(

The point is, Ashley, that because we were running it down their throats and we had a rookie in a high stakes moment the packers were expecting just those plays. So give them the look they're expecting but run something else off of it.

Why is Bryant still taking snaps on defense?

What adds to it is Jack Jones may be a hit already. Marcus Jones was one of the best CBs in college football & a standout at camp. Why are they playing a jag over a promising rookie in the slot?

The team should get to Jones x3 playing eventually. The rookies are more talented than their veteran counterparts IMO.

Play action. On first down in ot would have been brilliant

Packers ... 443 yds
Patriots ... 271 yds

Yet somehow we were in it.

Pats definitely had their chances in this game… I give Zappe a lot of credit for coming in to a very difficult situation in a very difficult environment… With that having been said obviously he is nowhere near ready to be starting in an NFL game… Our offensive line is pitiful as far as pass blocking is concerned….. I would try to trade worthless Wynn tomorrow for whatever u can get !!! With everyone knowing you have a rookie in a tough environment… and NOT PROTECTING his BLIND side is an epic fail on the OL and our questionable coaching staff…McCourty should be used sparingly rest of this season and Bryant is awful and needs to go! We are in the basement of the AFC East and will be tough to climb out….

The worst thing that can happen, he throws an int and there's the game, he fumbles, there's the game.

Every time Bourne's in he does something then he gets relegated to the bench again. I don't get it.
