Bourne isn't playiing over Meyers or Parker, are you ok with sitting Agholor? He had a very good camp, of which Bourne didn't. Just curious.
Parker gets 0 separation. I’d rather play Bourne over him. Parker to me is more of red zone target but doesn’t offer as much as Bourne does in the regular offence. We need guys who can threaten the D.

Would love to see J. Smith get more touches. The dude was a beast and couldn't be tackled. I don't remember that last year. He looked like he came to play which was more than a few other players can say. Can't they dial up more plays for him? Going to need their best players to handle the ball in order to win on Sunday.

.@danorlovsky7 speaking the truth: 'Don't know the last time I saw an organization as good as New England, look so unprepared for a football game. ...

"Offensively, there's no plan, it looks like there's no preparation ... they ran the same play 3 times in the first 11 plays. ... (On bad spacing) That's teams that we usually make fun of offensively. That's not an org that's run that way.

"QB has no answers with protections ... I'm shocked the Patriots look this dysfunctional on offense."

Parker can get some separation. He didn't have a great opener, but dude isn't a stiff. I think if he can stay on the field he'll make an impact.

Many forget he caught a nice TD in the preseason game against LVR called back on a godawful DPI flag. He also abused Gilmore on a few occasions when he was in Miami.

Big catch radius, long arms, good body control and hands. He's most definitely not fast in a straight line, that is for sure, nor is he Kendrick Bourne when it comes to running routes, but his feet aren't bad and he can create some space from defenders. He's much better than N'Keal Harry, for instance.

Let's maybe give him more than 4 quarters to determine how good he'll be over the 68+ he'll play with the team this season.

Two clips of Onwenu. Both zone blocks, but one is an outside stretch and the other is an inside zone. He puts down a great block on the inside zone, but is simply asked to cover too much ground on the outside stretch. Even some of the best OGs in the league would struggle to reach that block given the leverage/angle of the DT. Not a good idea to ask your road-grader to reach that block; Strange, on the other hand, might have a chance of getting leverage and sealing that.

Was it like 10 degrees below zero in Miami last Sunday saw Fat Matt in like Five Shirts and Judge in a Sweat Shirt?? Close Encounters of the Patriots kind??
My wife and I also noticed that.

Surprised Cox doesn't recall seeing that before. They've done it on multiple occasions with James White in the past, and perhaps others. Not particularly common, but not completely rare/unheard of, either. I've seen it from the Pats offense before (even when Brady was here, if I remember correctly).

He was hobbling a bit after his second (or was it 3rd?) catch & run. I was worried that he might be repeating last year's season when I saw that. Hopefully, he only got dinged up a bit.

Just a stupid take. I'm sure you weren't saying that when he was burning Gilmore in what was Brady's last regular season home game and made Pats lose a first round bye.

This stuff is driving me crazy. Parker is a really good NFL wide receiver. The only knock on him really is that he can tend to get injured and miss too much time. He’s always been good. So I am with you @JMC00

He ranked dead last in the league in separation from the man covering him last season, per the NFL’s Next Gen stats, and dead last the season before that, too.

Kenny Golladay, Allen Robinson, DeVonta Smith, Ja'Marr Chase, Chase Claypool, MVS, Michael Gallup, Julio Jones, Terry McLaurin, Marvin Jones, AJ Green ... all of those guys were bottom-20 in NFL NGS separation metric in 2021.

For whatever that's worth.

There's a huge difference last year from where Parker/Golladay were (tied at dead last for 1.7yds) versus DeVonta and Ja'Marr (2.3yds). The fact that Parker was at 1.7yds the last 2 years is glaring to me (which I noted when we picked him up). His speed coming into the league (10yd 1.51, 40yd 4.45) was pretty darn good, but since his relatively magical 2019, all I see are hamstring injuries (also happened in 2016), and that's the ultimate downfall of a lot of fast guys. I really hope he rips it up, but he and Meyers can't be the 2 WRs in 12 personnel. Meyers has been successful in part because there was always a speed guy (Byrd/Agholor) that took the faster DB. IMHO, we'd need Agholor / Bourne in there with either Meyers / Parker (maybe a rotation to keep them fresh).

I wouldn’t call the difference between 1.7 and 2.3 yards of separation “huge”. The top guys on that chart are pushing 3+ yards. Gronk is historically low on the separation metric, too.

Half a yard of separation isn’t a big deal if you have the wingspan and frame to meet the ball and/or box out the defender. More than one way to skin a cat. The goal should be for Meyers, Bourne, Agholor, Thornton to complement each other. On paper, they do quite well.

I was hoping for Double dip @ WR in the Draft knowing our luck two guys are better than one.

Parker has never been a guy who has won with speed. He’s won with savvy, positioning, and his size/frame. Gave Gilmore fits. If those injuries slowed him down at all, that shouldn’t impact his game much. Reading through that chart, some of the entries are redundant and/or indicate no games were missed as a result.

Guy looks healthy to me. Just need to score some darn points.
