Team seems thin at interior OL and DE. Given how the zone blocking experiment has gone, picking up some castoff linemen with applicable experience is probably a good bet, although I expect Ferentz to be on the PS within a day or two. Would have liked to see Trey Flowers signed, but after two years on IR (and maybe too many years with MattP), that was never a likely event.
The odd thing is the number of healthy defensive players on the roster. Things will change with IR designations, but those are all on the offensive side of the ball, so if nothing else were to change (and with two weeks to practice, they sure will) the inactives, aside from Zappe and one tackle, would have to be on defense. 2QB, 1C, 3G, 3T, 3RB, 2TE, and 4WR, excluding Slater. Maybe Montgomery gets healthy, but that's still only 19 game day offensive players, which is extremely light. I think we can expect an additional TE and interior OL to be signed and/or promoted from the PS by opening day. I believe that means that there will be at least two cuts (or injuries) on the defensive side of the roster in the near future. The only position there that doesn't look overstocked is Edge, where Judon, Jennings, and Wise are the only 3-down players.
