He could put on some pounds (fat) in the next 30 days with the lack of exercise which might not hurt.
I got to admit though, he plays a lot bigger and stronger than his body frame suggests. Did you see the push he had in the run game against the giants. . Doesn't need to hit 200lbs, another 10lbs should be good. Randy Moss was an maybe an inch taller and weighed 194lbs in his draft profile and he turned out pretty well strength wise.

So, Bourne and Agholor are not going anywhere a Wilkerson may have a golden ticket, if he can get healthy soon. Not sure why he tries to cut it back inside and fight for more yardage. He’s a speedster with a smaller frame. If there are 3-4 tacklers there, GTF out of bounds.

I am surprised Troy Brown with so much experience didn't tell T Thronton to Turtle up like the Greatest show on turf Rams WR's.

Yeah Kontra, highly doubt a trade at this point with what happened. I wonder if it's Lil Jordan who benefits the most though. Should be an interesting week ahead of us.

Nixon or / and Humphrey benefited from Wilkerson and the Thornton injuries IMO

After the initial jump-cut, he probably would've been wise to go down, but honestly, this is bordering on another dirty play from Carolina. By the time he's taken to the ground, he's almost five yards behind where his initial forward progress was stopped and the play is very clearly dead. Not sure when the whistle was blown, but he shouldn't have been driven into the ground as hard as he was at that point in the play. Not cool and a bit frustrating. Belichick needs to reconsider putting his players anywhere near these Panthers.

Would a different player have avoided a collarbone break? I don't know. I can't see how Thornton lands because a Panthers' player is between him and the camera. My sense is that most players, regardless of physical build, would probably break their collarbone if they were driven to the ground and landed on with that amount of force. Here's the rub: It's likely that bigger/heavier players wouldn't be as easily picked up and driven into the ground. I don't think Thornton's physique necessarily caused the injury, but I do think his physique will make it easier for players to take him to the ground with violence if/when they manage to get their hands on him, so he'd be wise to hit the deck when surrounded by more than one or two defenders (unless it's a must-have play in a big game).

Luckily two of the weeks are during the preseason. So it is six weeks of the regular season estimate. Not good news, but he could still be able to play for possibly 11-12 games this years.
Yeah, well hopefully they wont need him because that means the other WRs are all healthy and firing on all cylinders. Plus Thornton cant practice on IR

We don't know if the Pats will even put him on the IR. They can't until after the 53 man roster is set anyway. They might try to evaluate his recovery then and see if it is more advantageous to let him keep a roster spot and go to meetings and eventually doing limited practice.

True they have done that before. Very possible.

Thanks Rob: totally forgot about that I was counting 8 regular season games. Six weeks is not a long time in a regular season.

I'm not convinced that's the best way to coach a guy to play in general, but even if Troy told him to do that, it's not always like flicking on and off a switch. If Thornton's instincts were to fight for yards, that's something that has to be drilled out of you, rather than lectured out of you.

I know I am sure Thornton will be more cautious in those situations going forward with his slender frame.

Tyquan shows so many positives throughout his play. I am hoping that this is just an unfortunate little blip in his career. He's fast, he's tough, yes,
he's tough, he's smart and very mature in his youth. A lot of shoulders would have been damaged with that tackle. He stays healthy, imo he's going to be a very valuable player for the Pats.

They could place him on IR today but it would be season ending (as with Butler). BB seeing how it plays out.
yeah they wont do that unless they are sure its season ending. Or roster spots are so valuable that they have to leave someone else of the 53 to get TT on.

Yes, that is exactly how you become a great pro football player, just be cautious.

That sucks I was hoping four weeks but oh well. My man Kristian Wilkerson just did this...

Sadly, your man's not playing anytime soon either...

Brandon Mitchell was not bad. Not bad at all.
As a 2nd round pick, he wasn’t good.
Greg Spires had 10+ sacks in a few years and made the Pro Bowl.
He never made a Pro Bowl and never recorded 10 sacks. His best season with the Pats was in 2000, only to be released before 2001.
Woody, Pro Bowler.
He was nothing special. He couldn’t snap a football and was expendable after the emergence of Koppen.
Faulk, an all-time Patriot great.
He was bad before 2001.
Robert Edwards looked like Sony Michel?? Edwards had vision, burst and wiggle. He was excellent as a rookie.
Overall, he was good in 1998, but he couldn’t create much if the blocking wasn’t there (like Michel). FYI, I remember this rumor as I recently watched the 1998 draft on YouTube and the Pats wanted Fred Taylor. The year after they tried to trade up for Edgerin James, but the Colts wanted him.

If you disagree with any of the above, then you’ll have to ask yourself why the Pats imploded by 1999? People want to blame Carroll’s coaching, but It was clearly because of a lack of talent on both sides of the ball.
