“We’re going through a process”

If you had not cemented your legacy here as one of the biggest whiners on the forum then the satire may have been noticed. Considering a few other posters also doesn’t get it I’d say you are backpedaling now and doing a poor job at it.
Thanks for the encouraging words. Do I need an emoji of some sort? I think a few others did get the joke. You apparently did not. Maybe some helpful advice would be best here. After all it's still preseason.

Did anyone else feel that the offense didn’t look all that different while Hoyer was out there?
Lazar made similar comments:

With Hoyer under center, the Patriots ran more of their traditional offense with a power/gap running scheme and a passing game that looked very similar to the offense last season.

However, rookie quarterback Bailey Zappe ran more of New England's under-center install that did feature the inside and outside zone concepts that the Patriots were drilling in training camp. As was the case in practice, the Pats struggled by averaging 2.9 yards per rush.

Bottom line is regardless of what bb says about the process

Our offense looks and smells like dog poop!
What? What game did you watch? The backups looked fine.

I just look at what has been successful.

McDaniels was on offense for 21 of 22 years.
Reid was on offense (or HC) for all 38 of his years.
Shanhan was on offense (or HC) for all 18 of his years.
Daboll was on offense for 23 of 24 years.
McVay was on offense (or HC) for all 13 of his years.
OBrien was on offense (or HC) for 27 of 28 years.

Just seems like most of the good OC's have been on offense their entire career or most of their career.

This is a new value then. Because his former OC's ... Josh McDaniels, Bill O Brien, Charlie Weiss were all offensive coaches for like a decade before he made them OC.

This is not a normal thing to do. In fact, it has only been done ONCE before in the 102 year history of the NFL.

So if Patricia does become OC, it will be only the 2nd time in NFL history that a coach has been both a defensive coordinator and an offensive coordinator. The other guy was Bill Muir.
Just another thing Belichick does outside the box that is successful.

Maybe i'm just not smart enough to figure it out (wouldn't be the first time).

But I wouldn't want my plumber working on my electricity, or my electrician working on my foundation, or my mason working on my pool.

Offensive Coordinators usually get there because they've spent decades moving through the offenses ranks - from offensive quality control, to WR coach, to QB coach, to Passing Game coordinator and finally to OC. They know every part of an offense because they've worked in every part of an offense.

I guess i'm just not used to a guy going from Defensive Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator. Seems like very different experiences would be needed.
No you proved with the inane analogy you aren’t smart enough.

Others did not get it. A wut Response might be a clue ? Nahhhh. Too obvious for someone as smart as you.

So smart.

All that being said, I believe the reason Bill didn't hire a true OC is that he is saving the position for Bill O'Brien. O'Brien made a 2 year commitment to Bill's BFF Nick Saban and he is going to honor it, as he should. In the meantime, Matt or Joe will call the plays. AND as I pointed out before, it is a job that is important, but I feel overrated for all the reasons I have pointed out in past posts.
I've been thinking the same thing. Fingers crossed.

You are so smart. I mean like football genus smart Why you are not working in football in some capacity is a huge mystery
We were getting ready to win that game. In fact, we DID win that game.

Thanks for the advice. I'll going to be a better fan this season. Your words are truly an inspiration.

For the record there were 2 " haha" responses to my original post.

Belichick has never done this before and therefore we have no idea if it will be successful yet.

Never coached football before?

Never developed coaches before?

It's not like he decided to take up neurosurgery.

Great you fooled me with satire. You happy now. Let’s see if you can post this year and not be in the top 5 whiners. I am giving you a buffer there. Not even expecting g you to be the biggest and allowing you to be #6. See how mellow I have become.

Never switched a defensive coordinator into an offensive coordinator.

Never switched a defensive coordinator into an offensive coordinator.
Yet he has developed OCs before (Josh, Billy B, etc).

Guess I'll go with the GOAT coach's approach over whatever it is you think he should be doing, like perhaps plucking Adam Gaze off his couch just because he was an OC somewhere sometime in the past.

Never switched a defensive coordinator into an offensive coordinator.
Oh you mean the guy he coached and developed into bring a Super Bowl winning coordinator replacing the other guy he coached and developed into a SB winning coordinator?
