Patriots Training Camp - Saturday July 30th

Early training camp is like the glass half full. Some people see it as good that both the offense and defense are having their moments and challenges. Others see it as a problem with our play calling or the talent of our secondary/wrs.
I try never to get too high or low about anything this early. That being said it's better to hear good news than bad news regarding players we need to do well in 2022. Real football doesn't begin until hitting begins on Monday. Keep stacking good practices upon good practices and improving.

Yep! That's the way to view it. Just take it for what it is. I look for engagement and effort this early on.

When the Oline and DLine can let off some steam and defenders can get grabby in coverage, we will learn more about this offense.

And we don’t know if BB intentionally made things more difficult on the Offense. Now is the time to create a struggle there.

They required the DB's to wear some sort of hand mitten, so the offense has no excuses!

But I know what you mean.

Also I'll add...Troy Brown was the fittest man on the field. He might be in better shape than when he played. Father time has taken his time with him!! Screw the TB12 method..I need the TB80 method

With Mac suddenly less accurate and leaving quickly after practice I'd worry about some kind of minor injury.

according to Reiss he left because he threw a pick 6 to Dugger…click on the video

That's what it was. He was upset. It wasn't the best day. Defense had the offense clamped down for the most part.

I wonder if the offense is out of sync because of the new coaching staff...
New terminology is my guess which to your point was implemented by the new coaching staff

That was just speculation by Reiss. It's not like he asked Mac. And also doesn't explain why he had a bad day in the first place. Not that I know any better, but we'll see.

Knowing that Mac runs hot, it's highly likely him ending a 'meh' day with a pick 6 is what ticked him off.

It's still a work in progress. Alot of new targets.

Dugger is another guy that I really hope stays healthy. We saw what happened in January when he wasn’t.

It'd be great if Bledsoe can really contribute this year. Prep him to take over for DMac (or after Phillips)

I'm trying to control a hidden fear that the "dumbing down" of the offense will end up sinking this team the 2nd half of the season.
It will require our skill guys to be that much better than the defenses.

I do remember Brady and Co. being frustrated early in camp every year, because the D is fresh and basically knows whats coming, and the Offense doesn't game plan, they just run basic plays. I'm not worried about incompletions and picks at this point. But, I don't want him to wear out with only Zappe playing. We should've gotten another camp arm. I don't know why they let Stidham go when they did. Should have waited through camp.

4th non contact practice into camp? Mac headcasing is a good thing. He cares. ALOT. Reminiscent of another qb we've seen before.

I'll leave that one alone tho.

"This marked one of the best practices for third-year linebacker Anfernee Jennings, who blew up three plays in a row by rushing off the edge."

When drafted, Jennings was viewed by some as something of a tweener - a bit too small for Edge (at least in run game) and a bit too heavy for OLB. But looking at his measurements, I note he's pretty much the size and weight of Collins, although he doesn't have anywhere near the same freak athleticism. Bill seems comfortable with these hybrid players - Dugger is another example.

Jennings in game action was last notably seen with his penalized block that cost a touchdown. It was a very tough call, though technically correct according to the experts:

C'mon man, more than speculation. Reiss said he looked totally pisssed.and he was standing close to him. Reiss doesn't deal in baseless speculation like most of the other Boston media clowns. If he says he was pisssed,he was pisssed. The specuation is really you my man-speculating about a nonexistent injury.
Look it's a good thing he's pisssed. He's showing some of that competitive fire Brady had. The defense beat the offense today. He's mostly pisssed at himself. Watch him come out and shine on Monday
