I agree. I'm all for giving accolades to our OL, but my point is that all this recent "my grandmother could throw 50 TDs behind that Patriots line" talk is ridiculous. Brady has been Brady without a dominant line and now that he has REALLY good protection it's obvious he's gonna be even better. Put Joe Montana behind the 2006 Texans' OL and he would be rather ordinary, which is not to say he is not a fantastic QB.

I just think that with all the weapons and the awesome protection, some mediots are now spinning things in a way that makes it sound like Brady's production is to be expected when you assemble that kind of offensive talent. And this assessment is as wrong as it can be.

God was he nails in that game. And Bledsoe, for all that I love him, would've cracked or thrown an INT. 9 straight passes right on the money plus running 12 yards for the TD. And his O-line was, well not terrible, but not otherworthly like this year.

There has never been a corner who could cover Moss one on one. Put Bailey on him one and one and he would get torched, plain and simple. What a great CB allows you to do with Moss is gamble and limit the double coverage, but single coverage for the majority of the game would just result in 150+ Yds for Moss.

As for Deon Sanders, there was a brief overlap careerwise with Moss but unfortunately the matchup never materialized. I remember there was so much Saunders vs. Moss hype for the Thanksgiving game against the Cowboys during Moss is rookie season. Moss was torching everybody and he was gonna be facing the best, plus he was mad at Dallas for passing on him. Unfortunately Deon hurt his ankle and didnt play, Moss ended up torching the Cowboys for THREE 50+ TDs.

Does he recall that the Patriots played the Redskins too? And Washington DID prevent deep strikes against the Patriots, shutting down Moss as well as any team all season (3 catches, 47 yards). But the Pats demolished them underneath with a steady diet of Welker and Faulk.

Maybe they should have played a zone.

On the surface it kinda seemed that way because it was a last minute thing where he went to the Cowboys coaching staff and told them he couldn't go. But I think it was a case of him not wanting to face Moss at less than 100% and putting himself in a vulnerable situation where he can look bad.
