That’s all you people do… whine.

Any toughness baked into the Patriot fanbase after years and years of futility was lost thanks to Belichick in the 2000’s.

The level of entitlement is unmatched in all of pro football and perhaps pro sports. Now we have a generation of snowflakes who think that just because the Pats made winning rings easy… that it really really is.
It's fair to criticize the team though. I don't expect them to contend for a championship this year, but I do expect a playoff appearance at the minimum. The success from 2000-2019 will never be duplicated ever again we just have to hope the team continues to be in the mix.

Yeah, a 6th round pick turns into the most accomplished QB in NFL history and he just happened to play for Bill Belichick...

One could also say that Bill just happened to be the coach of the most accomplished QB in NFL history...

I criticize moves all the time, what I don’t do is make absurd blanket statements like “BB sucks” or rail on and on for 20+ pages about a failed draft pick being proof positive that the winningest coach in NFL history is really a bumbling stumbling idiot who backed his way into 6 rings and two more as a defensive coordinator.

BB drafted and developed Brady… an inconvenient fact for the Brady zealots who spam these forums. He didn’t magically appear from the mist like Excalibur.

I get you and some people do go to extremes, but the league is a what have you done for me lately and since TB left it hasn't been that pretty. You can excuse it though with 2020 being the covid year / 1st season after losing the GOAT and 2021 with a rookie QB. This season doesn't look like a championship contending season either due to the competition, but next season needs to be the one where we have to at least make the AFCCG. We have the GOAT coach and a promising QB it needs to happen.

Agreed. The Patriots are in that small window where they have a talented QB at cheap dollars.

Since 2019 ended it’s looked like any other rebuild with one of the better team builders in the league at the helm. Year one clear the decks, year two build the foundation, year three build the frame and add competition.

We have no clue what this year will look like, if the rookies, 2nd and 3rd year players are good or even great there’s no limit to the possibilities. What we know for sure is the Pats have another abundance of draft picks next season and the most cap space in the league yet again. If that’s me being overly optimistic then those people don’t remember anything that came before the 90’s-2000’s.

Nobody is entitled to Super Bowl rings, the most the best teams in the league can hope for is a legitimate shot at one.

Like I said above I would say that it hasn't been pretty since the Ravens game in 2019.

This IMO was the Patriots in 2021. Now look at them.

They turned it around in 3 seasons. I think it's fair to expect the same from us in a timeframe like that where we're a team that can make a deep playoff run in the next couple of years.

I mean the GOAT QB and GOAT TE, in addition to HOFers Seymour and Law, just happened to play for NE...wow, Bill is incredibly lucky. just pure luck and coincidence, I tell ya.

Yup and Mac will still be cheap as a fellow poster above me mentioned...no excuses next season.

Yes they're in great shape for next season that's for sure. I just want to see some improvement from the 2nd/3rd year players and the Vets we paid money to, to live up to it a great example would be Jonnu Smith

If they stay healthy and the young kids contribute at a fairly high level this will be a competitive team in 2022… they have the resources to build a superteam in 2023 if this even partially comes true.

Btchng and moaning about a guy drafted back in 2019 is meaningless, mental masturbation by entitled negative nancy types.

If Harry has a solid rookie season like Debo and others, does Brady leave? Should have at least beat Tennesee and their POS QB. So this IS a big deal. I'll whine all I want to thank you very much!

Brady wasn’t making a decision based off what some rookie did. Not to mention he had Meyers benched in the Cleveland game midseason, he didn’t want to play with rookies. How much would AJ Brown play?

Also the Patriots were flat broke, was he playing for 15 million again… or less?

He got 25 million per from Tampa and got to play with the best weapons in the league, the #1 passing offense the year prior with Jameis.

He already admitted on Howard Stern he knew he was leaving before the 2019 season began… he was gone no matter what.

These are the recent trades made by Bill:

2019:
Bennet - to DAL for 2021 6th
Sanu - from ATL for 2020 2nd
D Thomas - to NYJ for 2021 6th
Crossen - to HOU for 2020 6th
Dawson - to DEN w/ 2020 7th for 2020 6th
Bodine - from BUF for 2020 6th
Cunningham - from ARI for 2020 6th
Eluemunor - from BAL w/ 2020 6th for 2020 4th
Saubert - from ATL for 2020 7th
Hollister - to SEA for 2020 7th
Bennet - from PHI w/ 2020 7th for 2020 5th

2020:
I Ford - from MIA for 2022 6th
M Jackson - from DET for 2022 cond.
Gronk - to TB w/ 2020 7th for 2020 4th
Harmon - to DET w/ 2020 7th for 2020 5th

2021:
Gilly - to CAR for a 2023 6th
Y Durant - from KC for 2022 7th
Wade - from BAL for 2022 7th & 2023 5th
Michel - to LAR for 2022 6th & 2023 4th
R Izzo - to HOU for 2022 7th
Cannon - to HOU w/ 2021 5th & 6th for 2021 4th & 6th
T Brown - from LVR +2022 7th for 2022 5th

2022:
Harry - to CHI for 2024 7th
Stidham - to LVR +2023 7th for 2023 6th
Parker - from MIA +2022 5th for a 2023 3rd
Mason - to TB for a 2022 5th
Wino - to CLE for Wilson

There's a whole lot of terrible trades in last 4 years. The best trade out of the whole lot is probably T Brown but he only played 10 games. I would have to say that for the most part Bill got fleeced (especially by ATL, BAL & TB).

True but it would have been nice for the team to have won that last season with him a Pats uniform. Maybe challenge for a Super Bowl??

The 2021 team surrounding the QB looks nothing like like it did last year if the Pats continued to borrow cap space from future years after 2019… it simply doesn’t.

They had the money to spend in 2021 because they cleared their debt in 2020. The math does not compute.

I meant in 2019.
Harry would have made a huge difference last season if he were any good.
Pats biggest hole in the roster.
Hopefully the 2 tight ends will fill the void in the "new" offense

Brady got hurt because the offensive line was injured early in 2019 and he took a beating. By the end of 2019 he was a shell of himself.

We’re just going round in circles at this point. If AB wasn’t a sociopath, if the OLine stayed healthy and we didn’t have to start Marshall Newhouse… there are enough what ifs to fill a dump truck. It changes nothing.
