Re: ROTFTMAO...Before/After pics of Merriman...

I wonder if his dong will grow back to normal size since he is off of the juice. Or will it stay permanently shrunk?

Re: ROTFTMAO...Before/After pics of Merriman...

unless the photos are shot from different distances, his head looks bigger at the top...isn't that an indication of HGH usage?

Thats why its known as Head Growth Hormone as well

Anyone else catch the highlight of the block that maurice jones-drew laid on merriman on sportscenter ? reminded me of that movie " The program " where that roided out freak named Lattimer got steam rolled on the goal line after he had to stop roiding to play, hilarious....

Heres the hit on merriman.....

Link to steroid boy's player page on the Chargers site:
http://www.chargers.com/team/roster/shawne-merriman.htm

The pic looks closer to the first one but has the neck tat (and serious conehead). Something about that first pic looks funny but I'm not sure what.

Re: ROTFTMAO...Before/After pics of Merriman...

That picture is completely doctored. What is wrong with you people?

A man's head shrinks, he gets lighter, his facial hair gets thinner and he's sporting a new tat on his neck.....please...

First off, the facial hair and tattoos aren't even part of the controversy. Merriman changes his look all the time...and has obviously done some eyebrow waxing recently.

The pictures are simply 2 standard team photos taken a couple of years apart. The color tone difference is clearly meaningless -- different lighting, different cameras/software (the jersey color ends up looking different too.) The only question is whether he's lost bulk since the steroid suspension. As I said earlier, it's likely just a matter of pose/posture/camera angle, etc. But the photos do not appear to be doctored.

Re: ROTFTMAO...Before/After pics of Merriman...

Everyone knows MerryMan did roids but what about Drew Brees? He was in the top 5 quarterbacks in the league last year and this year he's a total fraud. Maybe he did the juice and when MerryMan got caught Brees got religion and quit. Something happened to him.

Re: ROTFTMAO...Before/After pics of Merriman...

Unless Getty Images has decided to start doctoring photos, the before/after pictures of Merriman are real. Take a look:

Before: http://cache.gettyimages.com/xc/565...7EC77F5F8D1CECB8318580CD17B994E9C89C783688B46

After: http://cache.gettyimages.com/xc/753...4AD9FDB9CF193550E821156FDE61246D1D8142BCACCED

If those links don't work, just go to gettyimages.com and search for him... the before picture is on page 10 (posted on May 5, 2005); the after is on page 4 (March 31, 2007).

Re: ROTFTMAO...Before/After pics of Merriman...

What's so shocking? Steroids are incredibly effective for athletes - not only do you gain muscle but they can be tailored so you lose fat. If that wasn't enough you can work out much harder for a longer time and recover much better.

Of course the downsides are kinda bad in that it shuts down your own test. production and you have to take special drugs to recover. And BTW it shrinks your balls - not your dong cause its slamming your own T production.

As a sidenote people who laugh at steroid users should think about women's birthcontrol pills. They also screw up a woman's natural hormone production but no one goes crazy about that. <g>

I played at a reasonably high level in the early 80s, not pros, and many guys used roids. A few guys I played with made the pros. A couple have already died.

It’s funny now as I live in Newton now and around 30% of the kids are on academic steroids, ADD medicine. Tons of parents have their kids take them to get an academic advantage as opposed to the 5% who statistically had ADD.

And incredibly bad for your health long term. Joint problems, high blood pressue, hair loss, cancer and premature death. I might have this wrong as it was some time ago but I think an old PTI friend of mine once spoke of a guy who was that juiced he bled out his arse occasionaly.

Actually, I dont think its parents trying to get their kids advantages, I think its the schools, teachers, and doctors, overdiagnosing. We are a country that loves to put a label on things, especially when it creates a comfortable excuse. There certainly are people with depression issues in this country, but it is being diagnosed and medicated at epidemic levels. Basically, anyone who has problems that fit a depression system is thrown on prozac, or the like, and probably gets worse. I am close with a person who basically is just really lazy. They have been on anti-depressants with no change, and consistently go to psychologists to feel better about their shortcomings by having a label and excuse put on it.
My son, last year, was 'diagnosed' by his teacher as being ADD. I've watched this kid sit for 2 hours straight without interuption and build a new Lego from start to finish, and do it perfectly. I watched him play football for the first time, and pay better attention to the coaches, instructions and drills that 95% of the other kids. He is a kid who jumps from activity to activity not because he cannot focus, but because he is so aware of everything going on around him, and finds MORE interest in something else than what he is doing often. I was adamant that I would not allow him to be medicated for ADD (there are many potential side effects) until I was sure that nothing else would work. His teacher would say "He is fine in group activities, but in individual activities, he has 5 good minutes of staying on the task" My opinion was before medicating him, we try to train him to have 10 good minutes, then 15, etc etc. There is a decent possibility that he just wasn't taking school as seriously as he should. Labelling him made him think that he had no control.
New year, new school, new teacher, he really likes his teacher (who really likes him) and she was shocked that they were labelling him ADD. Couldn't imagine anyone would think that about him. She admits, like his teacher last year said that he requires more of her attention than most kids. Last years teacher apparently didn't feel that should be part of her job.

Either that or since he stopped taking steroids, his head and body shrunk, he lost his tan and got a new tatoo.

The truth is none of us know.

But we do know what he was suspended for last year.

Yeah, cuz you can't get new tattoos in the offseason...

Have you seen before and after pics of Barry Bonds' head?

I'm not sure what the truth is here but its looking like PFT might have gotten egg on their face on this one

And quite frankly, as much as I can't stand Merriman, I'd love to see Florio have to say he was wr-wr-wr- misled.

There's never been a question that Florio gets information leaked to him - and when that happens sometimes its true and sometimes its not.

No doubt he had a flood of misleading information "leaked" to him on Spygate, and I think like this situation, the folks giving it to them had their own agendas and wouldn't think twice about lying to him.

I guess in the end, Florio won't trust them in the future as they make him look like a schmuck - but usually the damage is done by then.

Of course, as in Spygate, the last thing Florio can do is admit he was wrong and have to retract everything he said - indeed right now he's trying to have it both ways, asserting that the Chargers were the ones behind doctoring the Meriman photo.

POSTED 9:21 p.m. EST, November 19, 2007

MERRIMAN PHOTO WAS DOCTORED . . . BY THE CHARGERS?

We think we've finally figured out the mystery of the Merriman photo.

It was doctored. But not by us. Or by anyone looking to discredit Merriman. Instead, it was doctored by the Chargers, or by the league.

Merriman, as you might recall, stayed away from the Chargers' offseason workouts and minicamps in 2005, supposedly because he didn't like the terms of the team's injury guarantee.

But a headshot was needed, and it appears that Merriman's head and neck were grafted onto the body of the headshot generated by defensive tackle Jamal Williams.

So why was Williams wearing No. 97? Our understanding is that the team typically leaves several jerseys in the room where the pictures are taken, and that one of them in 2005 was No. 97.

None of this changes the fact that Merriman's face and neck are noticeably smaller than they were whenever the photo was taken, or that Merriman is smaller in his 2007 photo than he is in 2006.

Regardless, the apparently doctored image was used as Merriman's official headshot for 2005. Here it is on NFL.com. And also on the Getty Images site. We posted below a copy of the page from the 2005 media guide.

We hope that this finally closes the case.

Yeah - I'm sure he hopes it closes the case as any more attention to this and he's pretty much killed any credibility he ever had - which isn't much.

IT IS A FAKE
The first picture in question is supposedly from '05 in which he MISSED photo day. The body is Jamal Williams and the head is Merriman's from his university of maryland pic. The fact is that the CHARGERS actually doctored that photo because he missed the photo day. The number 97 is Ryon Bingham's since '04. The Reason Jamal Williams is wearing it is because they leave a couple jerseys in the room that they take photos and he did not have his number with him.
