They'd only free up about $3M if they cut Bailey. But they aren't cutting him. They signed a punter, like they always do, to make sure legs are fresh during camps.
$4m is a lot or a punter, but Bailey is also responsible for kickoffs.

I think that an extension is a reasonable approach.

Yep. I've mentioned about him doing double duty. This allows FOLK to concentrate ONLY on XPs/FGs. And that is worth something. We've seen a few Kickers extend their careers by several years by not having to spend time doing kick-offs.

I haven't said an extension isn't reasonable. I just said that Bailey isn't getting cut. We'll likely see a couple of players get extensions to help with cap space moving forward.

So, I heard that the Titans last phone call of the draft was to Kevin Hogan, a QB on their roster, to inform him that he was being cut. OUCH.

Nick Foles joins Hogan on the unemployment line. I wonder where Jimmy Garappolo and Baker Mayfield end up.

So now, the draft's over, we may have some post June 1 cut signings, some signings in the next week, but generally, given the salary cap, we aren't looking at any significant adds.

Next year, we'll be considerably under the salary cap.

I just checked the free agent class for next year, and honestly, I did not find much there.

There are players like Bradley Chubb and Derwin James, but they are sure to be franchised if not resigned.

The main player of interest that could be snagged in the Bills' Tremaine Edmunds. I don't think the Bills would be willing to franchise him, but his game would fit in well with the Patriots if they were willing to offer him a big contract

Stupidity of NO roster management continues (unless he's volunteering)
They still manage to keep most of their guys though. They did lose a stud tackle and a good safety so you're right in a way.

Some value vet free agents to consider depending on the value and health:

OT – Jason Spriggs
DT – Akiem Hicks, Ndamukong Suh, Brandon Williams, Tyeler Davison, Joel Heath
DE – Jadeveon Clowney, Trey Flowers, Donta Hightower
LB – Kwon Alexander,
CB – Kevin King, Vernon Hargreaves, Fabian Moreau, Trae Waynes, Kyle Fuller, A.J. Bouye, Xavier Rhodes, Desmond Trufant,, Chris Harris, Joe Haden, Joshua Kalu

Ok, but they are in deep trouble next year again - by far worst cap situation in the league over 2023, 2024.
And they dont have a QB (Winston signed only through 2023 on the cheap - if he balls they'll have to find extra 20M+)

Respect for trying to be competitive at any cost but at some point they will have to face the future..

and they don't have a first rd. pick next year right.
The Hill money is also insane imo.

clowney on a year proof it deal? Great edge run defender which we lack in years now.
Jadaveon Clowney hasn't played a full season since 2017, and why does bounce around so much? Four teams in the last four years and now looking for a new employer. Is he a pain the ass? Or what?

i think it's mostly because he wants to get paid like a top pass rusher which he isn't. He had good stats last season bc playing opposite to myles garrett. I believe playing opposite judon would be also good for him and we benefit from his run defense but he is probably way too expensive for us and there were rumours he is going back to cleveland. Wasn't there a rumour BB likes Clowney?
