NFL Free Agency 2022 edition

Yeah there’s a lot of stuff going around about these guys - Metcalf, Brown, Deebo…

I thought I heard McLaurin is having some problems with Washington (I mean, who ISN'T) as well. It will be interesting to see if any of the top receivers taken in that draft end up signing a second contract with their original team.

McLaurin isn’t talked about enough but is such a great player. It’ll definitely be interesting to see if any trades occur with those guys and then also how their free agency experiences go.

Scary Terry would be a incredible addition.

I think people underestimate how difficult it would be to replace Wynn in 2022. They don't have a full time guy waiting in the wings on this roster right now, and even if Penning is there at 21, he's not a lock to be ready week 1. It wouldn't be the first time they've traded a guy without a solid plan behind him, but that's a dangerous spot to be messing around with while you have a young QB.

Agholor has room to improve and likely isn't fetching a great return with his contract. I'm fine with trying to get a better year 2 out of him, unless a rookie just nails it.

Of Hightower, Collins, and Flowers, Trey is the one I want the most. I love High, and for the right price he'd be fine in a part time role. But I think it's time to move on from him.

Why does anyone think we will pay those players who will want top dollar? Brown and Deebo are great but are not going to get paid here.

Trey was a favorite but too much injury time and maybe for too much money.

Don't know why Tre Flowers remains unsigned; probably asking for too much money and, as p8ryts mentioned above, teams might be waiting for a more complete recovery from knee?shoulder?forearm? injuries...

Collins & Hightower remain unsigned because they're always hurt and now suck when they're not.... Good riddance to both.

No reason to trade Wynn/Lose; just move him inside to Left Guard where he Belongs.

Whatever position we draft in the first round needs to be a instant difference maker to add speed to either side of the ball.

I have to agree with Kiper with a trade up scenario if WRs or DBs start flying off the board.

You realize that Harry's career stats out perform Isabella.

All 3 are trash

There is a difference Cousin. Isabella can play ST. I agree on Boykin. I agree on Harry. But if the season starts today, I would rather Isabella in the slot.

Much better out there can be had. Jalen Reagor, another first Rounder sitting on the bench with 4.2 speed. Watch his TCU tape. The kid was fabulous. Kind of surprise the Chiefs nor Colts have called Howie down in Philly. He can be had. If I was to rate him he would still be in the top five of this 2022 WR class.......... if someone can straighten him out (hello Troy Brown). Have him married at the hip to Brown. Have him walk like Troy, talk like Troy, eat like Troy, sleep like Troy, crap like Troy or whatever it takes. He was too good at TCU to become the Harry of the Eagles.

"The problem is if the Eagles release Reagor, he would count $7.84 million in dead money against their 2022 salary cap. Since he has a $3.62 million cap figure, he would count just over $4.22 million more against their cap if they cut him than if they keep him.

If they wait until after 2022, the dead money hit would be exactly the same as his 2023 cap figure, which is ideal. But that’s a year away.

It’s not like Reagor is a bad guy or doesn’t have good work habits. It’s not like the Eagles need to extricate him from the facility as soon as possible."

The best hidden secret of those WR who can be had is Laviska Shenault of the Jags whom I have mentioned many times. 63 catches last year. Out on a limb here but he would be our slot receiver and would have the most catches for the Pats in 2022 here. 6'1" and 227lbs, he also runs the wildcat. He is the BB "more-you-can-do" candidate.

I love Laviska Shenault.

He is very much like a Deebo Samuel. He can play anywhere on the field. I don't understand why the Jags would want to move him or why teams aren't pouncing at the opportunity

1000 percent.
I don’t see why if available we haven’t made this move yet.

I didn't consider ST when it came to Isabella. If he plays good ST and can occasionally provide a deep threat then I agree he is leagues better than Henry

JC is not a complete shut down corner.
Nobody currently is in the NFL. Every CB has a flaw. A shut down CB is a unicorn in today’s NFL.
JC is on better Team though one that is ready to compete.
I’ll believe it when I see it. Chargers have had good rosters in the past, but nothing to show for it.

Because teams aren’t going to use money in the first wave of FA for a guy like him. A team will sign him after the draft unfolds.

Because the Jags just spent a fortune on FA receivers. There's only one football and so many snaps. They also have Marvin Jones who many on this Forum wanted when he was with the Lions.
  • Christian Kirk, WR.....a fortune!
  • Evan Engram, TE but will play slot. Big bucks!
  • Zay Jones, WR.
  • Laquon Treadwell, WR (resign). He had Agholor type numbers.
The Jags revived Treadwell........yes the Jags. Why can't we do the same with Isabella, Reagor or Shenault?

Take it from someone who receives NBCSPhilthy: Jalen Reagor sucks. Fecals fans despise him almost as much as we despise Kneal, Harry... and for some of the same reasons that have more to do with attitude & aptitude than with athleticism...

He’s about 75 percent as explosive but he is little harder to bring down physically than Deebo.

We could have a package for him.
The better thing about Shenault is his price tag Cousin. His average annual salary of $1,924,017. He is good through 2023. Even if the Niners agreed to Trade Deebo.....what would the new Team have to pay him? $20mm?

Watch Shenault's tape. This kid might be the sleeper pick up here. Not sure why they needed to buy so many more receivers. They we're spending like drunken sailors.

"I think it’s as simple as this team just doesn’t know how to use him, especially with D.J. Chark gone for the year.

Look at this quote from Urban Meyer last year. He specifically points to Laviska’s move as being detrimental to his usage and caused by Chark’s absence. I think we can chalk his early-season underwhelming production up to it being... well... early in the season. This new (and young) group of wide receivers needed time to find their footing, as did new offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell. But now that Chark is out, they have to put Laviska in a new position that isn’t necessarily taking full advantage of his skill set.

Make no mistake — Laviska is a talented receiver. This is not on him. This is on the coaching staff that 1) isn’t putting him in the best position and 2) is being forced to not put him in the best position because of injuries."

Mr. Groh....What the hell?

If I’m New England I am calling Denver and offering my first for Jerry Jeudy and a mid round pick.

Denver badly needs draft picks.
