1) Please list all the SB winning teams that were spending more than 20% of the cap on their quarterback.
2) over 15%.
As the cap goes up, do you think that the QB position should take up a higher percentage? If so, why?I don't know of one that was spending 20% (or more).
As for 15%, Considering that the Cap changes on a regular bases, there were QBs who's cap number did exceed 15%, though not the year they won a SB. Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberher, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, Russell Wilson, Joe Flacco.
The highest that Brady's contract was at was 13.6% in 2006.
There will be numerous QBs taking up 15%-25% of their teams Salary cap going forward. Whether or not they win anything will remain to be seen..
So what's your plan?Having Mac Jones as your QB is not a drawing card for top WR's
I didn’t say 20% was reasonable. I said it was consistent. Point is that there’s no change in teams’ overall calculus for QB compared to the past. But there has been a change in the WR calculus. You say that 20% of the cap is somehow reasonable for QB's.

Those other Teams have a Three year competitive plan too they ain't going anywhere and Mac ain't the best QB in the AFC young or old. This was a Better FA year for WR's and we passed on all of them because we're so great at Drafting them. I thought we would have signed a proven vet and bring a rookie along but I guess that proven vet is already on the roster.Dolphins and Bills have way more top talent players under contract in 2023 than the Pats do so they won't need to find expensive FAs as much as the Pats will.
Anyway, this thread is about 2022 Free Agency not 2023. Are we giving up on this season?
It's been amazing just how big of a difference he makes. I mean, it was HUGE not having him in the SBN against Philly.. People make such a big deal about Butler, but forget that Jones was injured that game.. He was a much bigger issue than Butler.Well hopefully he does a better job than he did. Good to have J Jones back in the mix, a lot of people aren’t remembering he’s coming back. Defense would of been better last year with him in it.
It said Day 3 pick. Not 3rd round pick..For a 3rd rd pick? No way in hell. If Mason jets you a 5, this cat gets you a 6th or a 7th.
If MVS just got a $10M/yr deal with 18 guaranteed, Agholor would have gotten better. Saying otherwise is being ridiculously biased. It's hard for me to think that teams would've been willing to throw that kind of money at Agholor and Godchaux that we did. I could see why Jonnu got the money he did, hopefully he lives up to the potential now that he will probably be used more this season.
And that's such a lame excuse. They took advantage of the pandemic market drop last year, and they were hailed as genius. So, now, we're giving them the out of "2 years in 1"? Pissing all your money away on questionable players in a year where you're obviously rebuilding, rather than keeping some money for the next year, is an epic fail.
There will be a lot of changes between 2022 and 2023. Especially when you consider that there are 3 Franchise Tagged TEs.The two top cap hits for Tight Ends are Hunter and Smith. Which is kinda gross.
They’ll also be second and third next year, unless something changes.
Very pricey:
Best part is that the tweet was deleted..I'm curious why people here give the Incarcerated Bob of the Pats beat the time of day? He's a wannabe with no sources or hook ins to the NFL let alone the Pats.
Yep because the Hill and Adams move made some Teams WR needy. I like what KC did to offset losing hill they took a chance on a couple of guys not siting on their hands like the Patriots. There will be a Run on WR's will the Patriots draft the next Harry?? I say get a Bama guy even if you have to REACH for one or two odds are one will work out. I hope they don't Reach for a CB early on.There are no true WR#1 left and best available are OBJ and AB. So unless the Pats bring in a WR#1 via trade (unlikely) they'll have to get one via the draft.
Given all the WR moves and high cost in the last 2 weeks, I expect WRs to be flying off the boards. This will make it riskier to pick a receiver beyond the first round. I was against picking one in the 1st round. Not so sure anymore.
No. He's not confusing anything. You seem to be confusing trades and free agency
N'KealIf OBJ goes back to Cleveland, who’s left? Jarvis Landry?
