These contracts have built-in safety parachutes. Written very specifically. Most are short term, very rarely do we see long term signings. Coupled with the cap consistently increasing its extremely tough to end up in "cap hell." Those that have are few and far between and do it knowingly like the Saints. Make know mistake they're choosing the here and now over the future. And again those examples seem to be very few.So the chiefs have a chance of not winning their division right? They still have mahomes but every other team in their division is stacked. And that offense isn't as scary with Kelce/juju as it is with Hill.
Maybe the cap isn't crap overall when KC and green bay have to get worse because their QBs make crazy money

He got over $12 more Mill guaranteed that's a lot of money if you intend to maximize your value. I not going to fault Hill for for taking more: the man has to feed his family...
According to his numbers, he's not that bad... decent completion percentage, low-ish INT%, 90.1 passer rating last season... he's comparable with Mac jones. Hill and Waddle are going to be nightmare for defensive coordinators. Plus Parker and they added Cedrick Wilson which gives them great depth at WR. Gesicki at TE. Raheem Mostert, Chase Edmonds and Myles Gaskin at RB... all good receiving backs. Mostert if healthy is a beast running the ball as well... 5.7 Y/A for his career (284 rushes). Miami has surrounded Tua with an exceptional supporting cast so I would give him a decent chance of being successful... 4000-4200 passing yards, 25-30 TDs, low turnovers.Tua is awful.

I have Miami finishing second in the division at this point. Buffalo is going to win the division easily.
But have a winning record against the GOAT of HC's go figure.Tua is awful.
They can have better offensive talent and better numbers, but it still will boil down to weekly matchups, injuries, execution, coaching. I'm not conceding anything to the Dolphins, or even the Bills. All of us now have tough schedules.According to his numbers, he's not that bad... decent completion percentage, low-ish INT%, 90.1 passer rating last season... he's comparable with Mac jones. The West is going to knock the sh*t out of one another, perhaps the most exciting division in league history, literally every matchup is terrific. 11 wins might take that division. Josh Allen was ridiculously outstanding in the postseason and I think he's ready to go next level elite-ness next season... looking at Buffalo's schedule for 2022 I see 13 wins in there, which likely will be #1 seed. If they face anyone but Brady in the Super Bowl then they'll win it.They can have better offensive talent and better numbers, but it still will boil down to weekly matchups, injuries, execution, coaching. I hope he goes to the Jets. They always manage to fail. Hill would be mildly terrifying on the Dolphins because we always struggle against them for whatever reason, especially @Miami.In talks with Jete and Dolphins
Chiefs granted Tyreek Hill permission to seek a trade
Patrick Mahomes could join Aaron Rodgers in the club of QBs who have lost their best wide receiver this offseason.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com

I just checked the article. So the Dolphins give up a 1st, 2nd, 2x 4ths, and a 6th round pick PLUS they pay him 30m per year? That's a hell of a HAUL!Too late...he's a dolphin. where have you been?

And you're seriously telling me the Patriots couldn't have extracted some draft capital by tagging and trading a top playmaking CB like JC Jackson? etc.
And what is the logic in NOT making these cap saving moves when you can generate assets out of them? Did Kraft hand down a mandate - I will not SPEND any new money this season? Is BB now handcuffed and we don't know it?
- They have been extremely reluctant to make what would seem "obvious" moves to create cap room for this season, like reworking Matt Judon's contract.
- They didn't have the cap room to franchise tag him without making such moves.
Interesting thought: that said I Love the Judon - Henry and Bourne signings. We didn't get our moneys worth for others who ain't getting peanuts for salary. They are going to have to hope for dividends from some of those guys but I'm not holding my breath. And what is the logic in NOT making these cap saving moves when you can generate assets out of them? Yeah it makes me green about the gills thinking about the big whiff on this. Ugh. We are down two CBs, our best two, with only a sixth round pick to show for it. It sure seems like a titanic screwup by the GM of the Patriots....I wonder who that is? And last season we couldn't even stop the run; what's gonna happen this season?Too bad the Pats didn't/couldn't/wouldn't tag and trade JCJ. If Hill got a first rounder back in this market I'm sure the Pats could have gotten something good.
I get it. Miami might be in tough shape for a few years but again most teams can maneuver and stay competitive. And after a year or two most books are cleared. It's not this albatross people talk about.e.g., As OverTheCap.com put it:
The final year of [Tyreek Hill's] contract is effectively a void year used to inflate the annual value of the contract from $25 million per year to $30 million per year.
His salary that year is $43.9M.
