totally agree:

Fournette can catch. Competition/insurance for White / Bolden replacement. I also hesitate to say this, but Harris is a FA after this year and the Pats may not be willing to pay long term and might be willing to deal him to get a mid round pick back. Someone better than a 5th anyway…..

Also peope can say "below average WR corp" but Harris, Stevenson and Fournette would easily be the best RB corp in the league.
Ehh kind of. RB is obviously different from WR in the sense that the defense likely only has to account for one per play. Because you can only hand it to 1 RB (vs having 3-4 WRs run routes), having more really good RBs probably isn’t more effective than having a great one.
For example, I’d rather have Taylor and Hines than that group. May rather have Derrick Henry and whoever.

Pats have a chance to return an above average offense with an improved OL with higher upside at both guard spots. Hopefully FA starts to get going.

Well, the Patriots are doing stuff. It's only 8:38 AM and we already have a re-signing and three FA visits.
Yeah wtf. Butler visiting, Fournette visiting, Bates visiting and Brown signed to terms. A relative flurry of activity!

If they did get Bates the OL would probably be about as good as last year. If Bates is better than Karras and if Onwenu is better than Mason at RG (think about all that beef on the right side next to Brown) then it could actually be better.

We have Jon Jones back in the slot, McCourty Phillips and Dugger at safety so it’s really just about outside corner. I feel like Butler and Mills would be… fine… not great but not a complete disaster. If they went with those guys plus one or two high upside players in the draft or another UDFA gem like JC was, it could work.

That's how I'd feel about it. Think of Butler as Cam Newton. So long as they draft a kid fairly high (a Mac Jones at corner), he provides a bar that kid needs to clear to earn playing time. You never want to hand a rookie a starting spot out of necessity. But if they would be counting on Butler as a shoe-in CB1 or CB2, that doesn't feel like enough.

Well now I wish we signed Logan ryan so our corners could have been Butler, Ryan, and Jonathon Jones again

Any chance of a Gilmore reunion?
Already happened. Was visually quite impressive.

Not sure that's enough against these guys:

Diggs / Davis
Chase / Higgins
Waddle / Parker
Adams / Renfro
Hopkins / Moore
Cooper / Landry (?)
Jefferson / Thielen
Brown / Bateman
Chark / St. Brown
Pittman

The new contract for Collins looks like the old contract on the surface.

We need a pass rush more than anything on this team. More than a CB.

We need both. We're facing many mobile QBs that will buy time against pass rush. Need better secondary to hold.
