... but why? Why is year 3 of Josh Allen's tenure "year 3" and year 2 of Joe Burrow's tenure "year 2" but year 1 of Mac Jones' tenure "year 2"?I was including 2020

Looking forward to the mental gymnastics required to answer.... but why? Why is year 3 of Josh Allen's tenure "year 3" and year 2 of Joe Burrow's tenure "year 2" but year 1 of Mac Jones' tenure "year 2"?
Because they have pieces that Teams are rending to Today very good WR's ie... Sutton and Jeudy. Also a Two headed monster at RB in Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams now I see why they Traded for Russel Wilson. They needed a QB Denver have Drafted well over the years they always have good WR's and RB's. They have a Team that's ready to compete they can beat you in the air and on the ground. Even after sending their First Two picks to the Seattle for Wilson they still have a 2nd - two 3rd's - two 4th's and 5th. Like I said they have a history of Drafting well over the years and this is a deep draft in many areas.I don't get why everyone is so high on the Broncos?
I'm sure Coaching in that Division Josh McDaniels look at his rivals Rosters up and down and said #### l'm not going to repeat it. I think Denver’s roster had something to do with his play for Devante Adams lol. I'm getting league pass or one of those game day passes to watch AFC West games I'm very intrigued.I don't get why everyone is so high on the Broncos?
It's going to be interesting to see which west team crashes and burns. It's going to be a hard fall for a couple of them unless all 4 just rotate through the SB someone's going home empty handed. But the team that wins that division will have faced a guantlet if it doesn't take to much out of them that will be the favorite in the playoffs.I don't get why everyone is so high on the Broncos?

I don't think that KC is a lock. Not completely sold on denver or Vegas quite yet. Denver can definitely take that leap but they can also fall flat on their face. Vegas had one of the worst point differentials in the afc so was rather fortunate to win 10 last year. They could possibly go backwards despite devante.
Sd and kc seem like playoff locks in that division, but i cant really pencil in denver or Vegas right now. These teams will all beat each other up too and theres lots of losses within these divisional games so you may only see 2 come out.
But look at the Patriots QB situation. Brady without an OL, Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham, and rookie Mac jones. Now, I love Mac, and he did great for a rookie, but our passing game was hampered for a good part of the year.Eh…looking at his raw numbers, yeah. However; to be fair, Big Ben was the QB & we all know his arm has been cooked since 2019. This is why Diontae Johnson, Claypool, Najee & the TEs received most of his targets. All of these dudes besides Claypool (14.6) averaged under 11ypr, and Claypool had a 56% catch rate. Inefficient. Washington is a deep threat who should thrive in DAL with Lamb, Gallup & a QB who can get him the ball. May be a better fit..
And with these terrible teams, we were in the playoffs 2 out of the 3 years. But look at the Patriots QB situation. Brady without an OL, Cam Newton, Jarrett Stidham, and rookie Mac jones. Now, I love Mac, and he did great for a rookie, but our passing game was hampered for a good part of the year.
Let's face facts: we've had 3 entire years of less than optimal passing game.
I don't think that KC is a lock.
I expect the chargers to win the division, and the raiders to fight with KC for 2nd.Id love if you were right but I feel like theyre here until one of mahomes/hill/kelce sees an injury or kelce declines.
I agree, but I'll take it one step further, "Patriots fans areAnd with these terrible teams, we were in the playoffs 2 out of the 3 years.
Patriots fans are probably the most spoiled fans in the NFL, probably by far.

Winning one fewer game. In 2008 the 8-8 Chargers made the playoffs, which amongst other injustices prompted the NFL to change how teams made the playoffs.Interesting slant. It could also be slanted that Todd Hailey won his division with that same QB while Bill failed to make the playoffs with him

Ridiculous take. Elite franchises aim for championships not one and done in the playoffs 2 of the past 3 years and a downward trend. Pats fans have every right to aim high and want a SB competitive team. Unfortunately, BB, Kraft and Elliott Wolf have waived the white flag for 2022.
I apologize for not reading the entire stream of posts.??????????
Have you put the person I'm responding to on ignore? Because this is a bizarre response to the conversation.
We're talking about the subpar performances of James Washington (blamed on poor QBing from Roethlisberger) to the subpar performances of Patriots WRs.
I'm pointing out that you can make excuses for the Pittsburgh passing game, but the Patriots passing game is no great shakes either.
I can only assume you have the guy on ignore because I can't figure out how you got that.
In 2008 the offense ended the season ranked 4th in scoring and led the entire league in first downs. The offense was hardly a problem, the defense meanwhile was ranked 11th in points allowed… but I guess we can pretend QB was the problem with an 11 win team who only didn’t make the playoffs due to the leagues idiotic rules that allowed an 8 and 9 win team into the playoffs.1. From 2001-2019 they missed the playoffs exactly twice. 2002 and 2008. 2008 however was coming off a 16-0 season and one of the best teams of all time and they went into that season as the clear favorite to win a SB and most analysts believe had they had their actual starting QB they would have won that year. 2008 is not a good example when they had one of their worst outcomes in 20 years despite the team being relatively loaded and the QB was the biggest difference. People can go off about winning 11 games but the fact is they played two divisions where the best team of the 8 was 9-7. The QB in 2008 severely handicapped the team.
Jimmy went to a Super Bowl as a 49er. Nick Foles beat Tom Brady in a Super Bowl. Believe it or not QB’s won rings before Tom arrived, while he played and the NFL will go on long after he’s gone.2. Jimmy started 1 game and then played half of another game. Saying someone was undefeated with a guy for 1.5 games isn't impressive. Rex Ryan was undefeated with Geno Smith for 1 game.
Mac was a rookie, good grief. Brady was a sophomore in 2001 and threw one TD in the playoffs, Brady wasn’t superhuman in 2001 despite flights of fancy and revisionist history by Brady zealots. Agholor and Jonnu’s production was cut in half from the year prior… they didn’t lose their talent like power levels on a video game. Mac was a rookie, he’ll improve or be out of the league. More weapons wasn’t going to change the fact he was a rookie.3. Mac is promising, but he's not Brady and they need to give him support. He can't be expected to carry an offense that isn't sub optimal and we saw that last year where they absolutely needed to play with a lead early because they lacked fire power to come from behind or stay in a shootout. They basically needed to play as conservative as possible to win games and if they couldn't dictate pace and had to actually go tit for tat, it was a disaster. Brady towards the end couldn't make the offense work and he was known for elevating talent.
The Patriots offense wasn’t “quality” in 2019, they were the 17th ranked offense in the league in points scored. Brady was dealing with injuries, so was the OLine. In 2020 they started the rebuild… I don’t care about trends after 2019. They need to build upon 2021, Mac needs to improve as sophomore player's often do… like Brady did when he came back 15 pounds heavier in lean muscle mass. There's pragmatism and looking at trends over several years. The Patriots offense has not been NFL quality since 2019 and they paid for it regardless of defensive quality because in the modern league, you need to be able to win passing
