Of course. After all no other player in his mid-forties would ever be asked about retirement. He never would have retired in the first place if everyone just left him alone after a fresh loss. At least he will get a do-over on his retirement and remember to thank both US and the Bucs in a single statement.
That project is where he lost my dad. Biggest fan ever. After the announcement of that movie my dad was like, WTF.What about the self-indulgent movie project that involves the old biddies worshipping Tommy?
Speculating here but I think he went into a funk after the LA loss and even prior to the game had been leaning towards retirement. After the game he huddled with his inner circle and shared with them he was leaning towards retirement. A mole leaked it to Darlington and Shef and they perhaps gave him that final nudge when he wasn't fully ready.Yes, but who unretires after 6 weeks? He should have just said "let me think about it and get back to you."
I always thought there was a chance, he's from the area and the team is really talented. With Lance on deck was there ever really a chance Brady was going to SF?
It would have been a great story.I always thought there was a chance, he's from the area and the team is really talented.

Dunno. I think if Brady found his way there that would have been an admission that the Niners made a huge mistake with Lance. I can't see them sitting Lance until Brady really is ready to walk away in a couple of years - that would mean he starts in year 4 of a 5 year rookie contract with no progression at all.Lance is not ready. Montana said he heard that from people within the Niners. Brady wanted to go somewhere other than Tampa and when he realized Arians wasn’t going to let him go he decided to come back

I almost think his Feb 1 note was more for him to embrace the idea of retirement than for his fans.
In hindsight, Tom never should have caved in to the media looking for confirmation. The problem is Tom can't help himself. He and the TB12 brand need it.

There is no question the TB12 brand isn't as lucrative, established or stands on it's own as the Jordan brand and it never will. It's a good thought. It's also possible he realized his Brady brand was going nowhere and needed something else to do. After the season he was acting like he was this big businessman and all and was probably trying get get the Brady brand on the same level as the Jordan brand, which he's never going to do...
