Amari Cooper?

Gotta give it up to the Cowboys though to find someone who takes him off your cap with decent picks to boot.

I think come Draft day the BPA IF we stay Pat @ 21 is going to be a very good WR. Is this the year the Patriots hit on very good WR for five years?? I know Mac will be happy.

???

Trade is now officially agreed to, per source: Browns get WR Amari Cooper and a 6th, Cowboys get a 5th and 6th.

Time to move on from this thread, and replace it with a shiny new Jarvis Landry thread:

On the same day they agreed to trade for WR Amari Cooper, the Browns also have granted permission to veteran WR Jarvis Landry to see a trade, per sources.

Wow! Cleveland have a fetish with Diva WR's first OBJ now Cooper: at that cap # really. Cleveland won't need a WR in the Draft now. What are they doing with Landry??
Diva WR is a myth

Look at how O'Dell looked when he left Baker and played with Stafford in LA

What's Landry's cap # we all liked him back in Miami good slot guy??

Cooper on a 1 year rental for a 5th round pick, essentially.

And the Browns are supposedly in play for Deshaun Watson as well...

Wonder when Landry get's jettisoned..

I can't see Watson waiving his no trade clause to go to Cleveland.

Watson does not waive his no trade clause to go to Cleveland because he wants to stay in Houston? Houston can still dictate which team Watson gets to veto and play hard ball by saying it is Cleveland or no-one. A no trade is not that strong unless you are prepared to retire like Gronk.

Why wouldn't Watson want to go to Cleveland? Especially when they added Amari Cooper to Chubb, Njoku, Higgins, Peoples-Jones, Hooper, etc. And their defense has some young guys on it.

If Watson refuses to be traded, he'll still get paid, and he'll still be on the books.

because Cleveland? seems good enough a reason

Because it is Cleveland. Horrible ownership. Questionable coaching. Crappy place to be if you are young and rich.

Hey, Paul Newman was from Cleveland ... but, then again, he did leave.

Watson has. $35 million base salary this year. That hamstrings the Texans during free agency. And he can half arse it all season and collect his money. He could go the entire season throwing 30 balls a game and never completing a pass. His salary is guaranteed. So I don’t even know if they suspend him for conduct detrimental to the team if that lets them off the hook for his salary during the suspension. And there is a limit of the number of games that a team can suspend a player which I think is two or three.

That is enough incentive for Houston to trade him to where he wants. They don’t want to pay him $35 million this season after eating $10 million last year.
