Van Noy Cut

KVN is overrated after his first stint here. He was super inconsistent last year.
HT & Collins are both UFA - I doubt they get resigned.
Time to force the youngins into full time. Bentley, Uche, Perkins are going to play a lot. McMillan could take the green dot.
Langi, Hall, Jennings still have a shot to stick as rotational, depending on incoming FA or draftee.

Hightower and Van Noy worked well together. Now it is time for both to go.

We have lots of young linebackers who will compete for reps with any additions or re-signs (Bentley?).

Bentley is a UFA I thought?

I don't know if I'd call our OLB group "well-stacked". I suppose that depends on your definition of OLB, but we have nothing at edge beyond Judon and our off-ball linebackers might be a contender for worst unit on the team.

Good move. He's not a great athlete so as he gets older it will be a very obvious drop-off. They need to create cap space.

Perkins, Uche, Wino, Jennings....I think good potential but "well stacked" might be pushing it.

To be honest I just want to see what the Pats have. There's a good amount of youth and athleticism that doesn't see the field a ton. A youth movement on defense feels overdue.

This is going to be another really interesting off-season. Looking forward to see what they can do to build off of last year.

I always liked KVN a lot more than most on this board. Solid player. Not a HoFer, but solid.
Yeah, he had his moments.

Von Noy is the first of several more cuts I am sure. I am betting Belichick did Von Noy a solid by cutting him a week before the legal tampering period to allow him to try to hook up with a team before free agency begins and he gets lost in a crowd of much more desirable free agents.

Agreed. And considering this is a defense that went a couple of games without forcing a punt, I wouldn’t say there are many untouchables there

I will miss van noy.

Maybe as van noy is packing his bags he can get miles Bryant in one of his suitcases and get him out of town as well,
