DRAFT 2022 PTP Draft Board / Pats Draft Talk

LB
Andersen 4.42
Harris 4.44
Tindall 4.47
BSmith 4.52
QWalker 4.52
Chenal 4.53

There was an SI mock from last month that had us picking Andersen at #21 (really?). From the Combine coverage (6'3.5" 243), he used to be a QB (S in HS), then a RB, then OLB and now an ILB. Not sure how I feel about this raw Swiss Army knife guy.

OL that are probably getting looks from us for several reasons. One of which is versatility. Most have played other positions. Lots of day 2/3 guys to choose from.

Penning
Zion
Lucas
Mays
Raimann
Lindstrom
Strange
Nick Zakelj
Zach Tom
Luke Wattenburg
Logan Bruss
Dawson Deaton
Zach Thomas

Force Players / Math Rushers that should fit Justis' threshold

Used to be able to put 5 tweets in here but most aren't showing up. Hutch is definitely one

Ya man. Walker shot up some boards big time. In an effort to avoid future disappointment, I’ve already thrown that idea away. The cone drill results for Hutchinson were off the charts compared to his general ranking in everything else.

Either way if NEP want a true nose we have two of them with good-great tape. Both not only met thresholds but surpassed them by miles. Both have some they can move in short areas. Push a pile and decrease a pocket. 325+ with length. Handle doubles and clog up the A gap / los.

Assuming teams over-draft Willis, Picket and hopefully another QB somewhere in the top 10-15. The three OL - Neal, Icky & Cross. Hutch, KT, Stingley, Sauce and a WR or two. That's the top 10-12

With a little luck we'll be in range to have ..

A) small trade up (5 spots)
I'm holding out hope that Walker falls out the top 10 and slips a little more but doubtful. I'm almost 100% sure a good 8-10 will go ahead of him and he might be in range for a small trade up. It's 50/50 he'll go in top ten.
Let's say this year's 3rd, a future 3rd and 5th to the Eagles at 15 or 16 since they have two.
Could be for anyone you want? I
There's only 5-6 guys I'd do this for but I'm not opposed to it at all. This team needs talent / quality more than quantity imo. We need that special talent that separates.

B) have one of these at 21. I'm sure at least one will be on the board. Can't go wrong with the value. Let's say no QB's are taken and a team comes calling for 21.

C)trade back to 26-32 ish ... Trying to look for possible partners here. We have Josh in LV, Arizona, Dallas, Buffalo, Tenn, TB, GB, Mia, KC, Bengals & Det.

Immediately Detroit jumps out. They have 32, 34 & 66. They're in need of talent and relevance. 34 & 66 for 21 would be extremely hard to turn down. 34, 54, 66 & 85 give us four top 100 picks and 126. That gets me excited thinking about what I could do with that.

We could also swap with TB at 27 and pick up a 3rd maybe a 6th or 7th.

Cinci at 31 and their 2nd at 63.

Assuming DB's test well ... J Johnson, Davis, McDuffie, Booth, Walker, Elam, Hill, Brisker, Zion, Wyatt, Gordon are all possible choices between 21-32 imo. Maybe one or two more but this is the core group imo.

I would trade up 4-5 Spots for a Walker, Karlaftis, Booth. Definitely CB or DE
In my latest mock i traded up for the chargers pick with our this years third rd. pick for travon walker and selected travis jones in the second
walker-jones-barmore-Judon would be a nice start to rebuild the defense , God/Wise could be backups which suits their performance better imo. God could play the 3/4 T on run downs next to Jones which should make live easier for him.
Walker is from a Size/Athletic/upside standpoint a guy we badly need and should be happy about if he is available for a trade up.

I agree that this team needs quality over quantity. if we trade down for example, we could use that extra pick to trade up again if someone we like falls out the first round
