I'm not looking at discrimination as merely a claim but as a part of the NYFL. The only people who can fix it are the owners. The next 3 hires MUST be minorities.
The next 3 hires will happen next offseason. Say Sean Payton wants to get back into coaching after a year off. Teams should just pass on him strictly on race even though there’s a pretty good chance that he would be the most qualified to get the job?

When I heard he was multi-racial, I thought, maybe he's got Am. Indian blood. There's no way in hell this guy is a 1st generation offspring of a black man. Maybe if his great, great grandfather were black it would be plausible.

He doesn't show any genetic traits (skin, hair, nose, lips) of being a direct descendant of AA. All of those traits are dominant genes and they would be apparent or somewhat apparent. This dude looks anglo/irish. Maybe he's Black Irish, lol.
“It is surreal when I think about it, but I remember one particular day, walking around and all of a sudden noticing that, ‘Hey, I’m the only fair-skinned person in all these picture frames,’” McDaniel said. “My grandmother on my dad’s side is Black. My dad’s Black.

Looks like you are wrong.

Right. With the right political support, Goodell can make owners do anything. Sell a team, fine them, force them to move, etc.
I think it's up to The 32 and long past due.
Why?
How is it fair to anyone to not ignore race in hiring decisions?
Race has zero impact on determining who is best for the job.
You are endorsing doing what you are accusing the owners of doing. Can’t you see how wrong that is?

And why 3? Why not 8? 12? Why not every team must fire their white coaches and hire black ones?
8 is better and 12 is better than that, but 3 is a start.

And I wouldn't stop there. What about women? If you want to keep pushing quotas on me then half the world are women. Why shouldn't they get a chance?

And how about the
Lesbian
Gay
Bisexual
Transgender
Queer
Intersex
Asexual
Community? Don't they deserve a seat at the table?

Who are you talking to? Maybe you should practice as you preach and post what/who you're responding to.
Does he even count? If so that's 1 down and 2 to go.

The term that I grew up hearing was mulatto, a person of black and white mix, like our former President. I never heard it used as an insult.

Why not? The NYFL makes rules all the time. If they can ban Payton for a year then they can let him wait until the appropriate number of minorities have been hired before he gets another job. It's really an easy fix when you look at it.

You are the one saying X number of hires should be required to only be black candidates. You are the one pushing quotas, not me.
You seem unwilling to say what X is and when you can then stop practicing discrimination.

No, absolutely, entirely and completely no one “deserves a seat at the table” because of their identity. Deserving is based upon ability.

I am talking to the person who wrote the post I quoted. That’s how this works.

You being the NYJFL can force owners to do stuff, e.g. Spygate, Deflategate.
Simply needs to be a decision of most powerful owner cabal to pick on targeted owner(s).
They're creative enough to manufacture some jamoke public rationale. Synchophant press will cheer them on. BURN PATRIOTS WITCH!!
There were plenty of fans here who thought that Kraft couldn't sue the NYFL during both "gates" even though just the threat of a suit from Kroenke was enough to get him what he wanted.

This is the NYFL and we're trying to fix a problem that even they admit exists. The X represents whatever each individual wants it to. I chose 3 but any amount is an improvement.

You really think that the NYFL hires based on ability? I don't. I think each owner takes a chance and hopes for the best when it comes to coaches. They're almost interchangeable compared to the players.

Hey he identifies as half black and isn't that how society works these days? Whatever you identify as, you are..?

Of course, on a more serious note, it raises an interesting conundrum. We keep hearing that the League is racist. If that were the case, why would someone like McDaniel put it out there that he is half black? Wouldn't that be something he would simply keep to himself? After all, he doesn't want to be discriminated against.

It's almost like he considers it an advantage to be see as multi-ethnic and not just another white guy.....

What is and isn't considered an insult changes as the winds blow.

70 pages of white people from the suburbs who lock their car doors when a “sketchy” black dude walks by their cars, dying on a cross over and over again for black people. Always entertaining.

The cynic in me tells me the league paid him to do so. The NFL knows no bounds when it comes to protecting the brand in the face of a nasty lawsuit.

Why would you go to extremes to make this point?

70% of NFL players are black.

This is why 1 out of 32 coaches is an issue. A universally acknowledged problem.

There are no women playing football in the NFL.

You don't see why your comparison makes no sense?

In this case, mulatto literally means MULE, you know, a product of interbreeding between two entirely different species.

I can't imagine why anyone would be offended by that.

False equivalence fallacy.

They hire who they think is best for their situation. It’s an extremely subjective criteria.

Again, you are saying there is a problem due to discrimination and the solution is more discrimination. There is no logic in that.

What would you if I told you 9.4% of football coaches are black, and more than 20% of all HC hires in the last 10 years were black? That 32% of all times recently had a black HC (41% a minority HC)? That 36% if all nfl coaches are black and about 1/4 are coordinators?
Does that sound like racially discriminating against coaches?
