Who will be the new OC?

Previous QBs who can relate playing the position.
Both are smart and are well respected.
Are you talking about QB coach or OC?

Not to bust your nuts or say he isn’t but what are you basing Hoyer being smart and well respected as a coach on?

Brady wanting Hoyer with him for so long.
Hoyer going to different teams and starting.
Hoyer not only recognizing the Rams offense in the Super Bowl but teaching the defense how to play against it and to know the tells.

OC or QB coach?

I don’t think 1 and 2 have anything to do with his ability to be a coach.
3 is interesting but it sounds embellished. Can you get me a link to where you read that?

Personally I don’t see Hoyer as anything other than a backup QB who spend a lot of years in the league, and don’t see something special that tells me he would excel as a coach, decision maker or leader more than any other backup qb.

remember when we were all pumped when the Pats hired Ernie Zampese as OC? we all thought Bledsoe was going to have career numbers but he ended up regressing... sidenote, my buddy bummed a smoke off Zampese at training camp at Bryant....

Yup, I remember Carroll pumping him up. I was excited from his Dallas connection.

I hope this thread starts getting more comments than Flores/Brady soon

Looks like O'Brien is out.
Josh just poached Bo Hardegree to be LV QB coach.

Yea based on what Saban said sounds like it.

It's a promo for Bo and seems Bill had no immediate plans for him

I bet Josh won't name an OC.

Hoyer as QB coach?

I thought Hoyer said he wasn't interested in coaching, hours too long or something.

I recall reading that Hoyer didn’t want to coach. It’s a lot more of a grind than being a backup QB. I think he comes back as a backup.

I agree that McD might not name an OC.

Two wacky ideas: select an up and coming OC from the college ranks. Promote Mayo to OC (knows the Pats really offense well and is smart).

I wonder if that means BB has already selected an OC.

I would hope so for Macs sake..
Bills pairing Josh Allen up with Joe Brady hurts.
Obrein staying in Alabama hurts.
I guess Caley is the guy?

Nick Caley?

We'll know when Nick Caserio reveals a text from Bill congratulating him on the promotion to OC.

There's a rumor going around the Raiders fanbase that Mick Lombardi is going to be their OC. They even changed his Wikipedia page to say so. If that's accurate, it would likely narrow things down to either Caley or an outside hire.

Scratch another one off the list.
Never a possibility as OC. New OC will double as QB coach. Asst Qb

I think it’s Lombardi as QB coach and de facto OC.
