Semi OT: Flores suing NFL and NYG. Texts from Bill involved in the suit.

The lawyers seemed really confident and aggressive while Flores somewhat was apprehensive. Odd
The Giants are on solid footing. They will say that BB must have heard that Dabol killed it. I know I hire people and have interviews and will interview someone I want to hire but still go through the remaining scheduled interviews because you never know (look at Josh in Indy). The Broncos are also safe even if they did show up late and hung over. I expect their records (subject to discover now) will support this. Flores has probably hurt his case against Miami by brining these in. It may also be that he does not have proof on the $100K per loss offer and meeting with a QB and tried to beef up the suit by brining more in and trying to involve the entire NFL in discovery. You need some proof for a lawsuit and should not just be able to file with no proof and then expect to go find some in discovery.

After sleeping on it I really view this much less favorably today. Go ahead and sue Miami if there are grounds but the Giants and Broncos part is pointless. They had no contract or obligation to you at all.

Are there any attorneys out there who could answer the following:
I thought a class action lawsuit was multiple plaintiffs v. one defendant. This seems like the opposite.
The Dolphins' tampering / tanking charges don't seem to have anything to do with the Rooney Rule allegations. Why aren't there two lawsuits?

they planned on hiring someone else but still let me interview..boo hoo hoo.

I think the class action part is looking for others " similarly situated" to be plaintiffs.. Didn't Hue JAckson come forward today and say he was getting bonuses for losing in Cleveland?? Sounds like he could be added.

I have a different take. BB wrote" I misread the text" which means there is a written record of what was sent to him. If it says. " Brian killed it, we're hiring him after the rest of the interviews are done."and it was sent by someone with hiring authority, the Giants could be in trouble.....

Is he still interviewing with the saints today? Wish i coulda watch that one

Wow.
Your post saying I can’t believe you think he’s more qualified is posted as a reply to a post about pederson.
If you are referring to a different point then you need to quote the point you are referring to.
The least you can do is accept that the way you posted caused people to think you were speaking about pederson rather than act like it was correct.
Never referred to Pederson at all. I was arguing Flores is more qualified than Steve Belichick. Deus replied and I wrote I can't believe you think Steve is more qualified. Never one word about Pederson at all.

Go argue Pederson with him because you're clearly confused.

Perhaps with the NFL for the spirit of the Rooney rule but that is not the law. The Giants and Broncos don't owe Flores anything legally. I can't tell you the number of people who get interviewed with no intention to hire them, often by competitors who are doing business intelligence. Flores has absolutely no legal basis that I have seen to sue the Broncos and Giants because they interviewed him and did not hire him.

It would not surprise me if the Rooney Rule is a sham, and some people do not like being involved, or used as part of, a sham. I do not like that type of thing as I see it as being "dishonest". Recognizing that, I am not sure having a "sham Rooney Rule" is an offense to sue someone?

His testimony that he was on the yacht is evidence. In discovery they can prove the QB was there that day too. The Dolphins know that. If it is not true (no QB showed up that day and Flores made it up) the Dolphins can ask for a dismissal. I doubt the Dolphins will ask for the dismissal. It would be shocking if the offer of $100,000 to lose games was anything but verbal so I have no idea how that could be proven. It is very dangerous if the owner is investing in sports gambling, including investing in companies that gamble on NFL games. It seems as though the NFL would ban owners from investing in companies that gamble on NFL games.

Lots of owners are in sports gambling now, Kraft and Jerry Jones among them. If I was Ross and Flores did this to me and Flores has no proof, I would financially ruin him with countersuits. There is an expression "when you strike at a king, you must kill him". Flores' acquisitions against Ross are all in.

See, this is what I'm talking about two posts up. I want to make sure we get this right: I think Bill thought the text he received referred to Flores, so he texted him, when it really referenced Daboll. He screwed up which Brian his source was talking about, not which Brian he had in his phone. "I misread the text" doesn't sound to me like "I misread the text of the name of the person I'm talking to".
This is a fair point and something that will need to be clarified.

Sure hope Flores has the receipts on the lose games at $100K each allegation and the mysterious QB yacht visit, otherwise lack of credibility on his suit could set back the very causes he's stood up alone to champion. I admit that those accusations and his interview allegations are congruent with my opinion biases against NYFL owners.

Misread the text seems to mean he misread that he was speaking to Flores rather than Daboll.
Seems pretty clear because he mentioned he bills.

I would assume he has paystubs for 100k each for the 11 he did lose right?

I honestly believe Flores. I think this happens a lot in the league but Flores was the first to rat out an owner.

Accusations? Spell check is a b!tch.

Yes, Flores is all in. His lawyer knows all this so I am guessing that is why the class action "hail mary" is added in.
