The regular season records might be surpassed one day. But the post season records will be eternal.
That’s why I believe rings are the ultimate separator. Rules, games played per season/postseason change. Titles are the only constant.

They are sports reporters and I'm tired of having people say 'it's their job'. The media as a whole is completely out of control and there is no public service to leaking this information early. It's not some critical public service announcement. When they choose to do so because it makes them 'look better' at their job then they must also accept that they look like clowns. They want it both ways. Leak something like this that serves no purpose to ANYONE except themselves and then not be criticized for it afterwards.

Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington are sports reporters who breaks sports news. They did their job. Sorry are butt hurt about it, but this is why they are two of the best in business. They get the scoops that others cannot get. It is their jobs to report these scoops if they are verified.

Just screams of

Brady's pr guy: Ya we are getting a ton of **** about Patriots not being in your statement

I'm actually more disappointed about Brady capitulating on this. There is a reason for him not mentioning the team he was with for 20 years and had so much success with when he is typing up his retirement announcement. The fact that the Pats didn't cross his mind or they did and he omitted them while writing that says a lot to me. Wish he would have stood by it instead of pr spin tweets.
This reaction isn't surprising. There's a segment at Patsfans that'll come up with any reason to shyt on the GOAT.

If he acknowledges and thanks Pats Nation for a Patriots statement thanking him, it's contrived. If he doesn't reply, he's a pos. If he doesn't mention Kraft or Bill, it's because he hates them. It's pretty clear that even if he had mentioned the pats fans in his original statement, some of you jilted brides would've come up with a reason to question his loyalty, etc.

My dude, this is not a good look for you.

I honestly believe one day we will have another 5 time sb champ and the media will begin asking if could match or pass Brady.

It's not illogical for Pats fans (and the org) to feel weird that they were left out of his announcement. I don't think that's being too sensitive if that's all there was. But I just doubt Brady has nothing else to say - very much doubt he is that petty or that this was unintentional oversight.

Getting "scoops" doesn't mean ****. That's my point. "Hey look at me I figured it out first guys! Look at me!" That's all this is. If you respect that, then cool. Forget Brady, it's like this for everything. They make the issue about themselves. They can sit around and claim it's their job to release this information which is just BS and then pat themselves on the back on twitter afterwards. If they weren't all so busy trying to get 'scoops' and be first, maybe we'd get more accurate information.

Imagine Michael Jordan retiring and only thanking the washington wizards. not even mentioning the Chicago bulls and the 6 championships he won there. would be weird right?

or Paul pierce only thanking the wizards/nets and not the celtics

it was their last team right? so should be expected

not sure how people are spinning that its normal.

It is odd and not typical. Things ended poorly for Brady here. He thanked everyone 2 years ago and didn't feel the need to do it again. He felt his thanks right now was owed to Tampa. Hard to argue with that. If people want to be butt hurt than that is their issue. The guy helped win us 6 titles so that is where it is at for me.

Where does this thread reside now? I can still find it by searching for my own post but it doesn't show up in the main forum thread list nor is it in the Tom Brady forum. It has to be somewhere.
We are both dead and this thread is Hell!!! MWUAHAHAHAH!!!!!

WOW!!!! this is great news! Brady retired...now I can finally take a good dump. i've been holding it in for months now and my innards are at Defcon-5!

At least it’s not serious. Let me know when you’re at DEFCON-3.

So you meet the definition of an elite QB?

Sorry, this happens all the time. Brady isn't the first player to have his retirement announcement scooped by the media. He won't be the last.
Could be worse. It could be Rob Lowe or Judd Nelson who announce it.

Personally i'd prefer Judd Nelson since The Breakfast Club is my fav Brat Pack movie.
