Mahomes will never be better than Brady

Therein lies the issue for me.

I can't properly judge guys from the 40's to 60's.

If Mahomes wins this year, I have to put him over Brees. And he would be closing in on Elway possibly? Idk.
I suspect he will easily pass Brees and Rodgers (along with Marino and Favre) all 4 are big stat guys and also huge chokers. I’m going to be a hypocrite and not include Manning with them though because I just think he was plain better than those 4.

my top 6 are
1. Brady
2. Montana
3-6. some order of Staubach, Elway, Young, Manning. I always have trouble ordering them

I agree.

Playoffs are where legends are made. Each of those guys just made too many mistakes or consistently came up short. I don't care if Rodgers ends up with 7 NFL MVP's. Only one SB? No top five.

What's crazy is Brady has never truly had many terrible playoff games. Even in losses. Maybe Baltimore and Jets a decade or so ago? Otherwise, he's done as well (Or more) than expected/needed. Not one SB where he completely crapped the bed.

That's impressive because he's played 47 playoff games. Law of averages would say he would have 7 or 8 terrible games in there somewhere.

That's called consistently and brilliance.

the only one I would say he was terrible in was the 2009 Ravens game.

I’m trying to think of his 2nd worst. maybe the 2005 Broncos game? the 2010 Jets game wasn’t bad. it was a horrible loss but Brady at least played average

people will look at the stat sheet and say he was bad in the 2006/2007 Chargers games but have zero context of those. and he still won both. the 2006 Chargers were incredible too and that Pats team had no business even being within 10 points of them

Kermit is well on his way & he has more wins, playoff wins and when KC wins this SB this year he will have the same # of SB as Brady at the age of 26 (Kermit is 26). KC is set up for 5-7 years of #1 or #2 seeds in the AFC. People keep saying SALARY CAP SALARY CAP! the cap is an excuse to get rid of players teams don't want and it's proven year after year that there's a myriad of workarounds to keep key players together if teams really want to do so.
Also, for the KELCE IS 32 crowd, what makes people think they just won't draft the next guy or sign a great FA tight end who'll take less to play w Kermit? KC has been pretty adept at drafting/signing skill position guys - Helaire, Hardman, Pringle, Watkins, etc al....

Andy Reid is a heart attack away from retiring.

Uh, no. No that is not even *remotely* a “proven” thing, Folgers. Teams looks quality players to the cap regularly.

What Mahomes is doing is impressive, but the target he's chasing as best ever has beaten him two times. After 40 years old. Brady's competition was Manning, a potentially top 3 or 4 QB, and they played each other for over a decade. Mahomes would have to surpass 7 rings and hold every record imaginable for him to be considered as an equal to Brady. Also, I hope, people will remember that Brady played in an era that allowed for more aggressive defenses to begin his career. Last night never would have happened prior to 2004, where Brady was winning his 3rd. To be honest, what Allen did was more impressive, considering he did it against a coach people like Colin Coward consider to be BBs equal in the past few years. Mahomes did it against a HC with little playoff experience.

Sorry for bump.

But a good possibility Mahomes wins # 2 this year.

I personally don't believe Mahomes will win 7 SB's. It's too hard. Too many variables.

So two questions:

1. Do you think Mahomes wins 7 rings?

2. Can Mahomes be considered the GOAT without winning 7 rings? For instance, let's say he ends up with 5 rings and 5 NFL MVP's.
Dude, this is a Patriots forum. Bumping a year old thread so you can salivate over your boy isn't needed here. And no, your not sorry. You're just trolling but trying to act polite to not piss off the mods. You're probably the same douchebag that started the Passing of the Tourche thread. How'd that go for you after Brady broke your boy in last year's SB. Piss off to Chefs Planet where you belong.
