This your MVP??Had home field advantage and a rabid pro Packers crowd.
Had a coveted playoff bye to optimize health.
Had a championship level Packers defense that held up its end only giving up 6 total points.
Rodgers led an offense that generated 58 yards of total offense in the 2nd half.
lol.
Are you one of those, "Lebron sucks because he lost so many times in the finals" kind of people? I need to know before I continue this conversation.
Jeff Hostetler and Trent Dilfer say hi.Not enough to be compared to certain all time greats I agree. Enough to be considered one of the all time greatest QBs to ever play, along with his other statistics? Um. Yeah. Obviously.
Both home teams lose.@Triumph what are your thoughts on this meltdown?
Ever consider that his teams are average and he pulls them into the inevitable, having not even deserved that? You can’t just interchange terms like “a great QB” and “one of the greatest.”
Rodgers has immense talent. He’s a clear Hall of Famer. He’s a joke under adversity, too. He’s now lost:
In 2014 to the Sehawks when the Packers got FIVE turnovers and four INTs.
In 2020 to the Bucs when the Packers got THREE INTs on Brady.
In 2021 when the team allowed just 13 total points.
That’s 3 of his MVP seasons, all Super Bowl caliber teams where his teammates did their job and then some. I’d bring up 2015-18, but he sulked around those years while putting up below average per-play production, despite making sure his stats were protected.
Anyway: think what you want about Rodgers…it doesn’t make you more or less of a fan. In the Tampa thread, there’s been lots of discussion about how he crumbles under adversity and refuses to take necessary risks. Exactly what we saw tonight.
Idk. He has a ring despite a lot of less than stellar coaching. GB wins today with average special teams play.Rodgers is in elite regular season QB, absolutely no doubt. Rodgers is a post-season dud, also absolutely no doubt.
I don't have any feelings on the bloke one way or another. Just don't think 1 ring for a near 40 year old QB described by some as the GOAT can be explained away as bad coaching etc. GB have had loaded offences and stacked defences over the years and they still choke, as a team and as individuals.I don’t love Rodgers, but I don’t hate him.
Well Jimmy does have more Super Bowl rings than A-A-RonHe literally won a SB so this statement is completely inaccurate and disingenuous. Jimmy hasn't won a SB but you're saying he is more clutch.
There is only one GOAT and that’s Brady. But there are a lot of great QBs who never even won one ring (Marino, Fouts).I don't have any feelings on the bloke one way or another. Just don't think 1 ring for a near 40 year old QB described by some as the GOAT can be explained away as bad coaching etc. GB have had loaded offences and stacked defences over the years and they still choke, as a team and as individuals.
Hard to be be sure after a 10 point stinker at home when overwhelming favourites.Ironically, Tennessee would have won today with Rodgers.
Deebo Samuel went to South Carolina. Also had notable medical red flagsAnd the last thing. Debo was a rock solid star at Clemson and is turning out to be a rock solid star in the NFL. Did the Pats pass over him for you know who?
