Brady and Antonio Brown

LOL Brady is having a great statistical season because of the weapons he had the past few years. Last year it was arguably the most talented set of pass catchers in NFL history on one team...
That is WHY he is a better GM than Bill. Do you realize the only big money weapon Brady had last year was Evans? Godwin was on his rookie contract, same with OJ Howard, Fournette they got for a bag of potatoes, same with AB and of course traded with Bill to get Gronk on the last year of his deal which was a bargain given Gronk's production. 3 of those guys were brought by Brady for next to nothing.

Do you understand the concept of a salary cap?

Godwin - already on the Bucs

Evans - already on the Bucs

Gronk - Brady's pooch

Brown - Brady's pooch

Fournette - cut by Jax after Brady left. NE already had Michel and Harris at RBs.

So what GMing did Brady do exactly? Gave his two buddies, Gronk and Brown, a call and forced them to sign with Tampa?

I just wrote this above but perhaps you missed it as I just added it. The only big money weapon Brady had last year was Evans. The whole point which you just underscored is Brady got legit weapons for Tampa for next to nothing. The rest were drafted by Licht. That is how you GM in this league and win a chip and set yourself up for a second chip the following year.

Now contrast that to Bill this year who just spent $165 mil and egregiously over paid for ALL of his skill players especially Smith who is a bust at $12.5 mil.

Of the list of players above, the only player that Belichick had a shot at getting was Fournette. But the Pats already were set at RB with Harris and Michel. Gronk was never coming back here and neither was Brown. Not exactly top GM skills by Brady to get a couple of his buddies to play ball with him.

Well this would have been something

WTH? You completely missed the entire point as usual. Those guys wanted to play with Brady and came to Tampa on the cheap. That is whole point you keep missing. Those players were never coming to play for Bill and a rookie QB. Heck, Stafford told his agent the only team he would NOT play for was the Patriots.

It was always Brady that brought the offensive talent to the Patriots. Heck, Stafford told his agent the only team he would NOT play for was the Patriots.

Getting your friends to play ball with you is not good GMing. That's exploiting a relationship. Do you think if Brady were the actual Tampa GM, not the QB, that those guys would have signed with the Bucs? They are there because they want to play with Brady and have a shot at a title.

Exactly. You finally got it. He is the defacto player/coach/GM. It is a powerful combo.

LOL Brown basically admitted that Brady liked him only because he's a good football player...like I said, if you help Tom win titles, he'll like you. If you don't, he'll chuck you to the curb.

Never leave any bridge unburnt

yes why would any team want you to play for incentives. Such a mystery.

Guess it was all about the incentives and money for his outburst

Gronk was paid $9.25m last year. 45 catches. Great blocking. I wouldn't say he was a bargain. If anything he performed up to his contract.

Bourne was not an overpay.

Relative to the 8 TEs who are paid more than him Henry is also not an overpay.

Agholor is 30th in AVV for WR. Probobly a little high based on his prod but when you look at contract vs production for Corey Davis, Tim Patrick, Jarvis Landry, Courtland Sutton, Golladay and Julio Jones and it doesn't look that bad. Disasters.

AB doesn't understand why he is on a prove it deal with multiple league suspensions? LOL
