Unfortunately, neither the MVP or Coach of the Year can win the Super Bowl, so the game would go into overtime, followed by a second overtime, third overtime, etc. for eternity.
-circa 3648 AD

"...archaeologists who discovered the ancient remains describe it to be an apparent human male, seated on the edge of a chair, intently staring straight ahead at an unknown object. 'I gotta say, I'm curious as h*ll what this guy was so interested in when he bought the farm,' stated one witness."

"Bill the GM" is crushing it!

For those who think we're in "cap hell" next season:

I feel like we should have done more with Patterson. We in effect were the first team to re-invent Patterson by starting to use him as a rusher as well. See his career below. The most carries he had before coming to us was 13, on sweeps. We gave him 42 carries and used him in a different way. That has allowed Chicago and then Atlanta to see the tape and use him as well giving him 64 carries last year, and now already 133 carries in 13 games. That versatility has allowed him to stay on field longer and has gotten him more involved in the passing game as well. He has 500+ yards both catching and receiving. I think he would have been perfect for us if we kept using him more instead of jettisoning him. He only cost $3m on a 1 year deal for Atlanta so not like he was expensive.

There are a few I would have preferred to keep, but overall BB's strategy of signing players based on "value" has worked out. Patterson and Akeem Hicks are two I wish we kept.

it was james white coming into his own, earning 1m & a 10 million/2 years contract offer from the bears that did it...

As a WR here he was not a system fit.

They gave Exec of the Year in 03 and 04 to Scott Pioli. Maybe it's the confusion since noone officially has the GM title at the Patriots.

I don't even know what Executive of the Year is for if not for winning Superbowls. Bill Polian got Exec of the Year 6 times between stunts at Bills, Panthers and Colts, but only won the Superbowl once.

Yes and it did not represent who the true decision-maker was.

Yeah but he could be a pass catching RB........ carry the ball some, pass it out of the backfield, etc etc.
White was ahead of him.....way ahead.
