Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Colts beat the Pats

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

Thats why I hate byes, its bad for the fans and somtimes its bad for the teams too

Pats got bullied on both sides of the ball. My fear the Colts O-line taking over came true. They are really good.

I see why Myers doesn’t get much YAC yards or separation after a play where he beat the DB badly off the snap, threw his hands up like Moss, but the DB caught up to him with ease on a Mac overthrow. He’s a decent WR, but Mac needs at least one elite guy.

Harry made some tough grabs and I’m sure he was bummed Mac didn’t see him on a easy wide open TD. He was also hit early on that play by Sendejo.

Henry finally got caught pushing off as he’s been doing that all year.

I did like seeing what Mac was like trying to play from behind and he made a nice comeback. Eventually, we’ll see him play more like this slinging the ball around.

Who else rolled their eyes on the McDaniels special handing off to Bolden on 3rd and 1 getting stuffed?

I hate blocked punts on our end. Pats gave up a cheap TD.

Wentz is a terrible QB.

What sucks is losing a December game when they should be going on a December winning streak. And 2 weeks of a bye and losing is something mediocre staffs do, not the historical Pats.

I'm sure it's been covered but I'm too busy having sex with several hot women to read the entire thread.

While waiting the 3 minutes I need to get ready to plow again I used the Playoff Machine and doesn't look there are many tiebreakers at play for the 1st seed if we win out. We just need KC to lose one (doesn't look likely maybe Cincy) and Tenn to lose one (SF or a surging Miami seem most likley) and we'll have the #1 seed back.

The team's record under Belichick is slightly worse coming off of a bye than playing a normal game. Surprised me.

I was a bit surprised that the Pats returned from their bye this past Tuesday...I would think that with a Saturday game they would have been practicing on Monday.

1. They need to run more effectively. Colts and Titans shut down the rushing game. The OL is unable to execute consistently against strong defensive fronts. Without a running threat, they made os one dimensional.

Yes just ignore that Damien Harris was out in this one. Harris & Stevenson averaged 4.3 yards on 20 carries against the titans so to act like it was shutdown is disingenuous. Passing game was the preference in that one and it was right as Jones went 23/30 for 310 2 TD and the Pats won by 23 points.

2. WRs can’t get separation. Jones threw 3 beautiful long passes but without separation Meyers and Agholor couldn’t haul them in. Harry also had no separation but used inside leverage to make the reception. The red zone means less real estate to cover so WRs have to get open sooner in space. They can’t do it.
I mean they can get seperation and have all year, you just seemingly want to focus on 2 plays based on recency bias, 1 which Meyers actually had 2 hands on the ball, to act like it's some type of thing that has been a thing all season is just disingenuous . As for using the Harry one for an example, that's just laughable. Literally the type of plays the guy was drafted to make and fans slight him for it.

"he used inside leverage"

oh so you mean he adjusted to get himself separation to catch the ball?

IMO. Will be tough to beat good teams if they cannot improve these areas.

Meh. The game was lost primarily because of ST allowing a blocked punt for a TD and being off-side on a missed FG. Spotted them 10 points Not gonna win many games when your ST is spotting team 10 points.

4th and 1 (twice). They did not do a QB sneak...

Snaps from last night:

Imagine being so dumb, every time you lose it's crappy spread shotgun formations and meanwhile win 7 straight with power running personnel, and after you keep winning, keep going back doing what feels right to your dumb brain (and losing).

.

The fact that their bye week started after MNF was probably a factor; the CBA requires they be given a certain number of consecutive days off during the bye week.

Five thoughts:
1) Very un-Belichick like performance with ST errors and dumb penalties.
2) I don't think anybody had them going 12-4, but a shame the L was to a Conference opponent..
3) Makes the Buffalo game pretty much a "must win" to get the Division and a good seeding.
4) This is a team that's gonna make noise in January but a lot of thing will have to fall in place for them to get to SoFi in February.
5) Let's not forget we have a rookie QB and a great future.

I hope BB rips the team a new one in the meetings on monday. From former and current players ive heard he tends to do that in meetings.

What did he do that was weak?

Y’all love to say qb vs qb… compare how he handled himself vs Mac.

he made some bad throws but he was aggressive

Based off their OL & Taylor's domination last night, I'm surprised the Colts haven't won more...
The reason is, Wentz isn't good. When they took a big lead so quickly, they were able to just run. And luckily for them, when they just ran at us, we couldn't stop them. If it was closer, they'd have been more balanced, which would have helped us.
Like in the 4th qtr when they started throwing the ball - which was what allowed us to get back in the game with INT and stops.
It's insane why they did that at all! Oh well. I'm glad we showed fight, and the offense did have some success and showed they can produce.
The first INT was maddening because where and when it was, but LB's get picks like that every week catching vet QB's who don't see them drift back like that. But the 2nd was really just a late throw and he stared it down while seeing the guy breaking. That one was very avoidable.
I hope Mac comes back more aggressive and they continue the passing game like the 4th qtr.
