I totally forgot about this play until I heard them talking about on the radio. Still the funniest and most bizarre play in NFL history.

The funny thing is that they wanted to get the Patriots to either get a penalty for offsides or too many men on the field or just botch the play, but since the Colts were lined up in an illegal formation, the best they could hope for on that play would have been offsetting penalties and replay the down.

My favorite part is the "I guess?" body language of the snapper. I never knew it was possible to convey ambivalence while snapping a ball, but this proved it possible.

I blame that loss on Bill and Tom.
Because they passed the ball on 3rd and 2 and then used their last timeout, when they went for it on 4th and 2 they were out of timeouts and there was still over 2 minutes left. That meant that no replay could be done on what looked like the game winning play.
