OT: Patrick Mahomes & the Chiefs Offense

The story is the defense only giving up about 11 ppg. The offense doesn't need to score in the 30s. 26-10 still wins. Chefs will be extremely difficult to beat come playoff time. I fully expect then to return to the SB. Especially if they get HFA. All their remaining games are winnable. 13 wins will clinch HFA. Can the Pats win 4 more games?
This team reminds me of the 2001 team but with an earlier winning streak. The Pats need 7 more to win out.

The Chiefs are frauds.

To be the best you must defeat the best. The post season is where you achieve that. The Mahomes Chiefs have never beaten a HOF QB or HOF HC in the post season. 0 - 4 to date.

Loss to BB
Loss to Brady
Loss to Arians
Loss to Brady

Why 0 - 4?

Because the HOF HC can have the best gameplan in history, but its meaningless unless his QB can go out and execute. Its essentially 2 games in 1 because you're competing against the QB who controls his team. And, you're also battling against the HC who devises the gameplan and adjusts (or not) during the game. The HC generally calls the shots and instructs the QB on what to do.

If the Pats are lucky enough to make the post season and face Buffalo and win, they did not defeat a HOF HC and QB.

If the Pats face the Chiefs and are victorious then NE did defeat a HOF HC and QB.
I don't agree with the original premise that you MUST beat the best to be the best. What you need to do is beat the teams you play. And who decides which team is best and how does that team stay there if they lose? The best team is the last one left.

He's thrown some incredibly stupid interceptions this year.
I haven't seen much of him this year but I think he's also been less accurate.

As for INTs, the best to watch was BrINT Favre. If he doesn't hold the INT record then he should.

A lot of people questioned what Mahomes would look like when he came off his rookie deal, banked a ridiculous contract and started losing his supporting talent, well, all it took was the loss of Sammy Watkins and a defensive tweak to show up some of his deficiencies, impatience the big one.

Arians is a HOF HC?

I agree with the rest of your post.

Two time coach of the year who is unfairly or not credited with helping develop a couple HoF QBs and is now chasing a 2nd ring. So yeah he might get in.

Their offense is fine. My issue is the fact that they are allowed to play with a meta human. If Hill was a patriot, we'd lose a 1st rd draft pick and he would be forced to sever his connection to the speed force.

we actually haven’t seen nearly the worst of it yet. Per spottac his cap hit this year is only around 7m and next year jumps to 35m, then following years are 40s and above

His contract is massive but it's flexible in the sense they can basically convert the roster bonus into a signing bonus every year. This allows them to spread out the cap hit over future years.

Pats might have a similar situation with Mac in a couple of years, hopefully.

Well, its like playing an easy schedule until you face good team. The way the Chiefs got to the Superbowl and the way the Pats got to the Superbowl are not the same.

Would you rather go through Dungy and P Manning or Stefanski and Mayfield?

How about B Obrien and Watson or Tomlin and Ben?

The Pats have rolled through all of those combinations and they all look the same... like losers.
The team left standing at the end will either beat the "best" team or beat the team that beat the "best" team.

I knew that I was in a gray area.

Dungy has 1 Super Bowl trophy and is a HOFer. Arians does not have as many wins as Dungy but he has a better win % in the post season. Another Lombardi would surely seal the deal for Arians, but I do not believe its going to happen anytime soon.

GB is going to take out Tampa for a ticket to Los Angeles.

Why would you ever bet on Rodgers in the playoffs?

GB will lose in the 2nd round at Tampa or Arizona. GB’s problem over the years is they return the same players and expect different results.

My NFCCG right now is Tampa vs Arizona. HFA is TBD.

Curses are meant to be broken and Bradys luck wont go on forever.

The BS GB PI call in the 2020 NFCC was horrendous. The Referees let both teams play all game. The DBs and WRs were physical all day on both teams. So, now youre going enforce the rules?

There was no guarantee that GB would have won if they had gotten the ball back, but after that call the game was over.

GBs defense is top 5 and they have 2 good RBs in Jones and Dillion.

Tommy Boy is going home to his Subway sandwich.
