Definitely had some key turnovers which broke our way in the second half that helped flatter the final scoreline but let’s be honest, Ten was/is decimated by injuries and they kicked the crap out of us along the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Did what we needed to to get the win but there didn’t seem to be anything easy about it.
That was a tale of two halves. I think... think... that this is a Patriots team that remains present regardless of the game situation. So when there was a letup on the Tennessee side, we were there. Then when they self-destructed, our guys were there to take advantage. I'm not a fan of the "take away that one run" theory... but it's worth saying that they hung around for a long while due to that one run and way more 3s than 7s on our part.
I think this is a very good team, and playing at the levels the two teams played, I think it would be VERY surprising if we lost that... but you're right, they were tough the better part of the game before they weren't.
The score didn't truly reflect how the game went today. We have to find a way to be more physical early in the game. The Titans shut our run game down for the most part and bullied us when they ran. A rematch against them would probably be them at full power w/ Henry and Brown.
Mac played well outside of that near int he threw that could've changed the course of the game. He does not play like a rookie.
I still think Jonnu Smith has a long way to go. I see the potential but it is hard to ignore his blocking. I honestly can't remember a worse blocker than him in years. Our offense as a whole still feels like it is coming together.
good win, over what I feel is a team that'll be there at the end with KC. the tiebreaker w Tennessee could be massive. If Jones was more accurate this game leaves a different taste in my mouth. the field goal parade is very concerning.
so, no one's the least bit worried about giving up a million yards on the ground - at home - to a team that had no other option BUT to run based on personnel? Tennessee bullied the Patriots on both sides of the ball as the running game was non-existent until the last garbage time drive or 2. not saying that this defense is headed "that" way, but this run defense was 2002 level bad.
Let's hope Coach Bill gets this straightened out because you can't count on missed fg, missed XP and 3 or 4 turnovers every game.
I can't recall an afc this wide open in a long time. it was so nice to see those Bourne TDs - those were big plays by a guy who's becoming a playmaker. the offense was way too conservative when it didn't have to be. it was obvious Tennessee owned the line in the run game on both sides of the ball.
11-6 seems very possible. I didn't think we'd have a chance to get to double digit wins a month ago.
Now it would be a crisis if we don't win 10+
This is so impressive, and such an exclamation on BB's legacy.
That said, we still have work to do, to clean up some execution issues. We gotta get better in the RZ.
I was hoping for a split in this 4 game gauntlet of Tennessee, Buffalo, Indy & Buffalo. Halfway to a split. Would love to see them get that win against Buffalo on Monday night. Indy is really good, almost pulled off a late miracle against the Bucs. The next 3 will tell a huge story in the Pat’s 2021 season.
Tennessee was undermanned and beat themselves with turnovers and penalties. Good physical team - the type the Pats haven’t played for awhile. Pats skill players played well. Not so happy about the DL and OL play.
