Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Falcons

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Yards while not amazingly important, can be an issue if it keeps your offense off the field by your team letting teams convert 3rd downs over and over. So its not just nothing.
Thats 3rd down conversions %. That stat I care about.

Uche is hurt and has been for most of the year. The Patriots are letting him recover now.
I know hes hurt and has been, but ive read comments that hes disappeared not because of injury, but because hes just not very good. In the fifteen years ive been on here ive frequently seen that. A player whos performance suddenly falls off is basically labeled a bum, or a flash in the pan, or just not as good as we thought turns out to have been playing with an injury.

Correct, becuase the goal is to get the other teams offense off the field and your offense on the field. If you are giving up a lot of yards and long drives even if they only end in a fg...its not great.

Thats when red zone defense % and points allowed are other important stats indicate how good a D is.

TN is playing Patriots football. Fundamentally sound, using what they have, winning in the trenches.

This game coming up is WAY harder than some of us are making it out to be just because they've lost a couple "name" players. As a TEAM they are still very formidable.

Let‘s no go overboard. Tennessee is good, but, uh, they lost to the Jets. They were pretty lucky against the Bills, a game where Henry was dominant.

Nick Wright: there's a good chance the Patriots don't win another game in 2021.
Don't know the kid but he seems to hate the Pats. Can't stand Mac Jones being successful.

And the Patriots lost to Miami. The best record in the AFC lies with the Titans.

I'm not saying they can't be beaten, but there is a lot of chatter that Sunday is a surefire win (with focus already on the Bills and winning the division) when there's little evidence of that guarantee being the case.

@irishfanatic ....I agree with your earlier post.......where's @Biffins, @crawhammer or other Bill haters these days? Funny how their not showing up now with any anti Bill talk.

I’m a Pats fan, not a BB fan. There’s a distinction. If BB helps us win, then fantastic. All for it. If BB makes stupid decisions that bring losses he’ll feel my wrath.

Go Pats!!

Definitely not saying it is a definite win. I am saying that without Henry Tennessee is not exactly awesome.

The last team to win a game 25-0 was the Bucs in 2002.

The Bucs won the Super Bowl that year. Therefore, logically that means the Pats are winning their 7th this year. Book it! :D

Yeah, and this site should stop with the 'what if we lose JC' posts. Franchise tag is $15M or so, he's worth every penny of it, he's not going anywhere next season. Jalen Ramsey got $100M for five years, that's what it would take (or more) to keep him long term, but that's not a problem till end of next season. Knowing Bill, that will be time to say goodbye, unless he can talk JC into signing a long term deal this off season.
Wrong. The Franchise tag for cornerbacks will be $18.566M (top 5 "Salaries" of 2021). That being said, contrary to some, I believe he will be worth every penny.. I said previous that I thought a 4yr/$64M deal would get it done. I can admit after seeing Tre'Darius White's contract, that I was wrong. White's contract will likely be the starting point. I would not be surprised at a 4yr/72-5yr/92M deal with 60M guaranteed.. I could easily see the Patriots also splitting the signing bonus since the 2023 cap is likely to jump by some $20-$30M because of the new TV Contracts that are already in place.

The 2022 cap number is already set at $208.2M, though I wouldn't be surprised if that went up as well..

Some Bentley love:

He didn't do sh-t in this crappy clip and I am just so glad they have been able to mask his crappiness because Steve Belichick is the real deal. Bentley is a waste of space (but fast after the fact, Monty Beisel and Gary Guyton 3.0)

Pretty much any reply to an opinion about football that starts with "wrong" is worth discarding for no other reason than the poster is unnecessarily being a jerk.

Unless you're discussing something objectively defined - like roster regulations, IR rules, penalties, etc - then no can really be "wrong" because we're mostly amateurs sharing opinions. Even if someone is objectively wrong about something clearly defined, there's a better way to communicate that than a flat, "wrong".

If you think someone's opinion/perspective/information is wrong, try on the following for size:

"I disagree, and here's why ... "

"I have a different analysis on this one ... "

"Actually, the NFL rule in this regard says otherwise ... "

They weren't able to run the ball at all against NO or TB, which are the two best run defense teams in the league. Buffalo is third. We had a grand total of -1 yards vs TB and 21 yards (not including Mac's rushing) vs NO.

Browns were either #3 or #4 before Pats played them, now they are 5th after giving up 184 to them
