Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Falcons

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

BBB Plan. Building a better Brady!

Sure - but that extra set of downs for Atlanta could have just as well have resulted in a defender going down too. Getting out of there healthy is a lot more important that padding stats.
Players play. Can't play trying not to get hurt.

On the Mac Jones interception, did anyone else think that Jonnu Smith misplayed it and made it easier for Terrell to make the interception. It seemed to me that Smith didn't attack the ball which allowed Terrell to make the play on the ball for the interception.

In case people missed it. It was MAC JONES who put a shoulder in on Terrell to help bring him down..

Hmm I woudn't agree completely on this take.
At first the CB cut the pass damn good, Mac didn't seem to notice it so it was a well defensive play by the CB. He was already 10 yards off from covering Harry and than just cut inside and jumped the Smith route (because most opponents don't expect Harrys number to be called, since he is really underused currently). Harry was open by at least 15 yards if not more when he made the cut outside when Mac has thrown deep to Smith. Smith was turned backwards to catch the ball so his movement direction was away from the LoS (backwards runnnig) while the CB crossed the LoS if you watch the direction of play, so the CB has had a better angle for the ball as he also got the right timing for it. Maybe Mac could have trown it higher where only Jonnu could have gotten it? I don't know...For Jonnu it was difficult to stop the CB because of his movement towards the ATL Goalline, while the CB undercut and had a great timing for the pass, perhaps Mac has to throw it half a second earlier so the CB doesn't get there or has only the possibility to break up the play but don't intercept.

However overall Jonnu seems not to find the right spot for himself in this offense, he doesn't look like a real TE more like a toy to handle the ball over on slants or reverse behind the LoS, quite dissapointed so far in what he has shown.

But again I would like to see more Harrys number called during the games, he is a better fit for such jump balls and he gets a better seperation than in previous years. And the opponents should be forced to account for him in the passing game in order to avoid such defensive plays where his cover guy jumps the route because noone is expecting the ball to go to Harry.

And Davis Mills.
Davis Mills will still be bragging about that game when stacking shelves at Walmart next spring. Was the worst Pats game of the season. Deserved to lose.

Pats have moved up to the #5 seed for the moment. Buffalo is probably peeing their pants. I wonder if they’ll struggle against Indy this weekend and blow the division lead…

I doubt Buffalo will panic, they are talented and well coached. The Patriots are however going to give them much more trouble both head to head, and for the division than they ever imagined.

I love the fact that the Patriots are essentially playing playoff games every week because of their early season losses. This is molding them into a tough team both physically and mentally, and will have them ready for the postseason. It’s fun having every game carry so much meaning, makes watching the regular season much more fun. While there is still work to do over the next couple of years Belichick has turned them back into contenders in less than 2 years after the end of their 20 year dynasty. GOAT!

Just finished watching the game. Thought Dugger , Barmore , Judon , Van Noy were all great for the defence. Offence did struggle even though the WR's caught most of what was thrown at them. Running game was good.

2 corner back blitzes got to Mac , 1 missed by Stevenson and the other by Trent Brown
Stevenson and Harris look really good (great work by Johnson)
Offence only converted 4 out of 12 3rd downs , (7 out of 9 against the Browns)

Regardless of this I still thought the team plays as a team and continues to gel and work for each other.

Such a strange game. Defense was insane. But the offense scores 19 points against a defense that averages giving up 29 points a game. I thought the offense took a step backwards and looked like the earlier season version. If the offense plays like this next week, it’s a loss. But I always say, a win is a win, I don’t care about stats, don’t care if Mac threw for 1 yard, or 100, as long as they win. And 25-0 is pretty awesome.

Defense gets a really good test the next 4 games. Hopefully they show up big time. LOVED what they did tonight. So good, that the the opening field goal was a game winner. Just incredibly dominant. So much fun to see.

5 wins in a row, outscoring their opponents 175-50 over that stretch (holy schnickes). For math fans, that’s an average score of 35-10. That’s incredibly dominant.
Yeah, after putting on a clinic on Sunday, McDaniels laid an egg last night.

Just watched the game and job well done. Very satisfying. No injuries a big plus. Judon and Barmore are awesome. Running game is sweet.
Read this thread, and just like others after impressive winning performances by Pats the absence of certain posters is both notable and delicious. Just saying.
GO PATS

The funny thing is I don't think a decent portion of the Buffalo fans and media think the Pats are a real threat. I was listening one of those overnight shows on WEEI or 98.5 the other night and they had a Buffalo beat guys on and they asked him about how people in Buffalo feel about the Pats knocking on the Bills' door for competition for the division and his response was people in Buffalo don't focus on teams behind them in the standings and only focus on their real competition who are ahead of them in the standings. He basically went on to say that the Bills have the division locked and they are just focusing on getting things fixed to do damage in the playoffs. I know this is one guy, but from my limited anecdotal evidence this arrogance is common with Bills fans.

But this statement performances will make TEN/BUF/IND thinking and esp their QBs thinking (and they know Bill has all their numbers) - which only helps..
