Reminds me of your rondale Moore type of guy every time he touches the ball he could go for 6. My only real problem or worry if you will is his size he’s 5”9 and 162lbs he’s very light and might not hold up, if he could add another 20lbs or so he would be more higher on my list but it’s just the weight issue for me and I’m not sure how he would cope. He’s definitely electric though whenever he gets the ball in his hands. Great prospect to watch though.

Yeah anything under 180-185 is a bit scary and Austin isn't a guy who's great at avoiding hits. Not sure he's shifty enough but he does some specific things well, like attack the seam from the slot. Late rounder but can move up to 3rd round if he runs a sub-4.4, which is very possible.

I have been following Calvin Austin of Memphis. A former track star that has scored a TD in just about every game ive watched. I havent seen much hype on him. Would be a great get as a mid rounder IMO.
Thoughts?

If he was 180 I would be fine with that. You can play at that weight for his position and how teams would use him at 160 all you need is a couple of hits and he could get dinged up there’s just not enough mass there for me to risk it. For me at the moment he’s a gadget guy. Think of your Tavon Austin kinda guy. Now if you could convert him to a 3rd down back you may have something but again it’s the size he’d struggle with pass protection can you imagine Hightower/Collins/Bentley blitzing him..

Totally agree. Tavon is a good comparison in terms of the type of player.

That’s the only guy I could kinda see along with rondale Moore. Gotta get the ball in his hands and see what happens. There’s definitely a lot of good WRs this year not like last years class but still solid. If im drafting a WR in the later rounds though give me justyn Ross even with the red flags.

Level of competition comes into play here as well. Tavon showed up against Power Five level athletes on defense. It's obviously not his fault, but Calvin hasn't seen that by nature of the school he plays for. Tavon also has some slot skills that Calvin lacks and has some more versatility with his ability to run on the edge and occasionally between the tackles.

Tavon hasn't produced the way you want the 8th overall pick to produce but he's still averaged 8.1 yards per touch in his career.

My biggest worry with him is he’s going to struggle creating separation and possible his speed. He unfortunately reminds me of Nkeal Harry who has a specific skill set that we currently don’t exploit. Personally if we’re gonna take a risky guy at that size I’d rather go Treylon Burks. Just because you can see his speed whereas with drake London I can’t. I do have more film to watch though. Personally it’s either the Ohio State receivers, Or the Bama WRs I’d love John Metchie III as he an MJ10 already have chemistry.

metchie and Williams of Alabama are the real deal on the outside.

Williams had rare speed and metchie is exactly what we need next year.

Agreed with all your statements there. Williams could end up going first WR off the board in my opinion. If he runs his 40 in the low 4.3s and high 4.2s I could see him having a John Ross type of draft day.
His routes are crisp and you can’t really play press man due to that deep speed because if he gets ahead of you, your not catching him. Works the underneath well and can take a simple 5 yard slant to the house. Good short area quickness as well and gets out of his routes well too.

Metchie I love. I’m hoping he falls into the second round personally as I think he would be a steal.

I’ve watched a bit of wandale Robinson but not enough to really give a solid opinion but he definitely has something about him.

Metchie is exactly what we need. Plays a lot of the X but is obviously plenty versatile. Wins on those intermediate routes with great timing, efficient footwork and spacial awareness. Has some twitch, toughness and juice to give you YAC. Very few noticeable mistakes if any. Again efficient in almost everything he does. Really like what he could bring here.

CB playing with heavy outside leverage. Metchie attacks that outside shoulder with a sharp jab step and just takes off.

Burks is such a beast. Playing hurt and still producing. Monster along the sidelines. Gives you some YAC bc he's so hard to bring down at 220 with 4.4 speed. I like our WR corp. We have some crisp clean route runners but probably could use a little YAC help if we're being honest.

So physical. Using those xxxxxl hands to push off or stiff arm. 225-230 and can absolutely move. He made some money today playing hurt on a big stage.




I think we'll have plenty of options in the first two rounds. We don't need and aren't looking for a true WR1 which always helps. We don't need to press the issue but this offense could use a little more explosion, more YAC. Again I don't see many of these guys going that early so I think we could have some nice value this year if we want.

Round two might be a nice spot to take a shot. DL round one if the OL holds up and stabilizes. Shows signs of the top 10 unit we know they can be the rest of the way from here on out. DL round one, WR round two might be it.

(Chase only played 1 year) but Olave would be great here. Mac isn't hurting when it comes to targets. We got a nice group including the TE but I'm all for giving him some help. Specifically with YAC, short area quickness, versatility. We don't need someone to give 150 targets but there's nothing wrong with giving a young QB more help.








Nice play design and execution. Very crisp. Misdirection off motion draws 2nd & 3rd level defenders in or freezes them for a second.


Some notes on Olave ...
I think Olave would feast here in the slot.
So smooth and efficient. Footwork is clean but his spacial awareness is special. Switches up his speed and stride length depending on the play / coverage and just always gets open. Great at switching up tempo and always knows where he is on the field. Just very clean footwork and movements. He knows how to get open.

Eats up on zone coverage and can find any soft spot. He'll feast all day and is just a nightmare in terms of trying close in on him downhill. He's so quick in n out of lanes it's tough to get a good lick on him.

Awareness is really good. Not only for him and how to get open / where he is on the field but he's a QB best friend on comebacks/curls. Or just finding his way back to ball. Understands how much time went by on a play and when it's breaking down.

Great job stemming the early part of his routes to set up the top of his route. Understands leverage and how to get open like a Justin Jefferson or D Smith. You really have to play him tight and have good instincts to stick with Olave. I've called both those guys "point guards" before and Olave is in that same mold. He's just silky and smooth very hard to get a handle on in space. He'll cross you over and leave you behind like he's on the hardwood.

Great job at tracking the ball. He's a centerfielder. Great feel for when it's coming. Like I've seen him keep his eyes on deep stuff the entire time or not at all and catch it last minute. Same for some sideline stuff like fades. Great feel for when the ball is arriving and where it is. Plus tracker and can make tough catches. He can work in tight windows.

Ran track in high school. Plus play speed and again clean movements so everything is fast and on point. Great acceleration or burst off the line and in/out of his breaks. Variety of releases and tempo off the line.

All this leads to a plus r/r. Comebacks, go, post it doesn't matter he'll make it his own. Adjust to coverage or w/e is covering him.

6'1/190 it obviously hasn't stopped him but he hasn't faced a lot of heavy press from NFL comp. Seems like a natural slot fit but his speed and ability to get off the line is very real. He'll need to get a little stronger.

Nimble, agile, smart, versatility and tough. Solid hands. Very productive.

Just think he'd be great for Mac and we need his skill set. This offense needs someone who can get open quick and win deep. Not sure Olave will be a yac monster next level bc of his size but he checks enough boxes and would be great here imo.

Came here to throw in John Metchie III at Alabama, but I see he's already been mentioned. He's not that tall (6'0) but he's shifty and runs good routes with safe hands. I've always been fairly high on him (as I was Mac Jones) but he really stood out to me as being super clutch in Saturday's win over Auburn. Not an expert on Xs and Os but could he perhaps become a Welker/Edelman type in the slot? I'd say he's worth a second round pick.

YES. I’d happily take Metchie III in the second, he’s a stud. He just gets open no matter what. Beats press, understands when to sit in the zone. Good after the catch as well.
