Easily a top 5 BB fa signing. Dillon Rodney Judon only ones better. Phillips does mutiple things well and much better overall than I expected. Hes a glue guy on D.

A few questions to ponder:
  1. Is he our best safety?
  2. Is he an elite safety?
  3. Is he our best defender not named Judon or JC Jackson?
They may all be yes.

Philips is EXCELLENT. Major playmaker, tough, can do it all.
Core of the D is Judon, JC, Dugger, Philips, Hightower, Barmore. Weak links in Bentley, Godchaux, Mills.

Team really misses Jonathan Jones.

I’d be very happy to see Phillips and Dugger become the long term replacements for Dev and Chung.
I wouldn't be surprised to see both in more 2hi looks going forward. More specifically next year. Dugger has the background and athleticism if they want to go that way.

Both have been big pluses for us though. Their toughness and versatility stick out a few times each game. Definitely feel like Dugger is playing a little faster and the game might be slowing down a bit. Feel like his football IQ has stood out this year compared to last. Just looks a little more comfortable out there. Long way to go but he's made a nice little jump this year.

They do, but Myles Bryant has performed fairly decently in his absence, and I like the aggressive attitude he brings to his tackling.

Good point. Bryant looks like another decent UDFA that BB found out of nowhere. Cautiously optimistic that this D can hold in the playoffs if JC plays like a shutdown CB1, Mills plays average, and Bryant holds down slot corner.

At this point, the Chargers are just a pipeline for Patriots safeties. Rodney, Adrian, and even Steve Gregory had a couple of decent years as a rotational guy.

Bentley has had a run of very solid games.

Last game he had 1 tfl and was also a fantastic celebrator of this 1 play. How about all the missed tackles on the Browns' opening drive.

Since Dugger has been talked about in this thread, I’m pleasantly surprised with him this season as he’s made the leap I had hoped for. What a great INT that almost went for six last Sunday.

He was Captain and I’s punching bag last season, but I got nothing this year.

Yeah that pick he had Sunday was one that a professional Safety makes when he's now seeing a wider field and he knows the play is coming right to him... No deflection, bounce-off or other weird circumstance, that was a straight-up NFL-caliber INT, and the best football play I've seen him make...
He & Yo Adrian Phillips need to keep it up, because Kyle Pitts is a monster.

Gilmore. Rodney. And UDFA like JC Jackson, Malcolm Butler. Philips is also great.

Dillon was acquired via trade, but the point still stands... And let's not forget Mike Vrabel too!

A great signing. He's become a playmaker on defense, along with a couple other guys.
