Any idea why he went to the bench today with Brown’s return? I feel as if he has been one of our best OL this season and last.

He played as the 6th OLineman on the TD runs.

Went back and forth on this one. I like keeping Onwenu at RT as opposed to shifting him again. Leave him like this until the inevitable Wynn injury at which point Trent slides over to LT, I think. But yes it's weird to start Karras all game and use Onwenu only in goal line as an extra tackle

Simply because Brown returned.

The rest of the line has been playing well in its current iteration, so why eff with a good thing?

You think Karras is a better guard that Onwenu?

Is it weird to use Karras ? From what I can tell, the OL’s been gold since he became a starter.

I like Karras. He's been awesome. I just meant it's weird to bench Onwenu. But after thinking about it I'd rather he be waiting in the wings at RT for when Wynn gets hurt and Trent moves to LT

Karras has been playing well as of late, so at this point - yes.

Overall, the line play has improved since they moved Karras into the LG position... week 7 vs the jete iirc

Onwenu has arguably been their best OLinemen regardless of position. He's the 3rd best RT in the entire league. So I wouldn't be saying the winning is just because Karras has held the fort at LG. It's weird to sit your best lineman Onwenu to keep Trent and Wynn happy

No!!!

I think they are working Brown back in, which is why they were hesitant to switch Onwenu over. Once they figure out Brown is good to go, I expect the switch will be made. Karras is extremely limited in executing a lot of the pulls that this offense requires.

Onwenu got benched at guard in a game earlier this year but it kind of flew under the radar as he then got Covid and came back at tackle. I think he was struggling with communication with Wynn and Andrews. I agree the line was playing well so didn't make much sense to bench Karras when you could ease Brown back in at OT.

Onwenu did replace Brown on a few drives and played jumbo formations.

My guess:
1. Brown showed he was ready to play but they couldn't know how much (he lasted 7 snaps in his only game so far) so they wanted to have legit safety net at RT (which they clearly dont have outside of Onwenu)
2. Onwenu could also back up 3 other positions in case of troubles, injury, exhaustion against legit DL. Or help Wynn vs Myles.
3. They game planned jumbo OL formations and Onwenu is best for that job.

With more confidence in Mount Brown id expect him back at LG

or maybe BB just wanted to protect his high PFF grade

I agree that they decided to platoon Owenu with Brown to avoid too much disruption to the OL in this game. And Karras is playing well. And as Lazar said before the game, they never considered moving Wynn to guard.

This is an absolutely moronic post when the last 4 weeks were their best rushing weeks all season, and they sucked at both rushing and passing for 6 weeks with Karras benched.

So what magical running plays can't they run if they are putting up 150 rushing yards a game with Karras ????

This is what I would expect from a political-minded staff that already committed 10M to Wynn next year. They will do anything they can to give Wynn the role, won't consider differently unless they go on another losing streak.

I already said which ones. Are you dumb? Karras whiffs every single time he pulls. Onwenu is better than Karras and he'll prove it when he goes in for him.

It clearly doesn't matter if their rushing attack has been awesome the last 4 weeks plus pass protection has normalized. Wynn-Onwenu on the left side was terrible for 6 weeks. At some point you need to deal with on field results instead of the precious guard pulls that clearly don't matter. 4 straight wins.
