Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Panthers

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

Good thing going forward is I don’t think NE will play a tougher defense than they did today.
Burns is a game wrecker.
Reminds me of a quicker Chandler Jones.
Would love him as a Patriot.

Bill has known him since he was born. Remember Ed McCaffrey with the Giants?
OK... I was wrong. Ed McCaffrey was a rookie in 1991 with the Giants, the first year AFTER Bill left the Giants

Uche has been MIA lately, think Winovich will bring more to the rush once he gets back.

Holding is holding no matter if the ball is on the ground or not. I have never heard of a fumble exemption for holding. I could be wrong.
Have you ever seen them call holding on a fumble recovery. I can't even remember a PF call in recent times. It's pretty much anything goes until someone has the ball

I’ve watched football 50 years and don’t think I’ve ever seen that called. Fumbles are a free for all.

Just because penalties are rarely called during fumbles doesn‘t make holding legal during fumbles.

I am surprised that nobody commented on Josh McDaniels ranting at our boy wonder quarterback. He went on and on. It was after that pathetic series by Jones inside the 20 that resulted in a field goal. Also did anyone noticeThe panthers wide receiver screaming at Darnold nn the sideline after his pick?

I bet you come to a 100% complete stop at every stop sign at all times of the day or night too. If the refs aren't calling it, then the rules are moot

I don’t remember if I saw a holding call during a fumble, but I have seen penalties called during fumbles. It is rare. In large part because the refs are watching the ball.

But it doesn’t change that it is a penalty.

Rugby rules come into play on a fumble.

I didn't see mac on mac, but i did see the panthers wr yelling at darnit. it was after darnits third int, and i think the wide out is a former jest player robbie anderson. He played with darnit on the jetes, and was tired of darnit throwing ints

I dunno, the Browns & Bills are comparable, and the Titans are probably better. I'm not as bullish after today's game as I was before it.

New mac jones nick name...Dirty Mac........for those to young to remember The Dirty Mac was a name given by John Lennon to a temporary supergroup he organised in December 1968 that featured Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Mitch Mitchell and himself.

Panthers DE Brian Burns injured after dirty play by Patriots QB Mac Jones

Here we go! Gentlemen, start your lawyers. Anklegate!

The most reasonable path to the playoffs is 4-0 against the weak teams (ATL, JAX, MIA, IND) and 1-3 against the strong ones (CLE, BUF, BUF, TEN).

Of course, it is probably more likely that we win out after the bye.

Isn't a pile of guys fighting for a loose ball just a slew of holding penalties? I mean, laying on top of an opponent is essentially holding, right? I'd love to see John Harbaugh's reaction if a ref threw a flag for holding while a ball was loose.
