PostGame Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Panthers

Immediate Postgame Reactions
I'd rather not depend on the luck of other teams doing badly. The Patriots have a chance to take this division by the horns by beating the Bills. That should be the focus. If you can get the division title, that's a way more sure way into the playoffs than hoping to get in via Wildcard.

Also don't count on 10 wins as a sure get into the playoffs anymore. The season has now stretched to 17 games instead of 16. It's quite likely that 11 wins has become the the new minimum win amount to gain wildcard entry into the playoffs.

6-2 to finish off the season doesn't look that unlikely anymore considering how weak the schedule is and the momentum the Pats have built in recent weeks. But yes, it is possible to sneak in with 10 wins by finishing 5-3, it just doesn't feel nearly a sure thing with a 17 game schedule.
Just an addition to this, 11-5 didn't get the Pats into the play-offs in 2008..

For the sake of his career, Donald should've refused to play us by any means. Should've stayed in concussion protocol or even smashed his own knee with a hammer if need be lol. That ghost thing was going away and now its like cemented. Mark Sanchez has won multiple playoff games but he is forever the buttfumble guy.

Some embarrassing moments are unshakable. Kids need to remember that before doing any talent show unprepared all willy nilly.

Nice win, the division is in play. RB room is too thin. Bring on the Bills.

Love, a first rounder, who has experience in the system, has a big zero VS a putrid KC D…. People who expect more from Mac need only peek at other situations around the league.

Let's do this 12 more times. Love ugly football games where we just win playing winning football via strong defense, ball control offense, and avoid killer mistakes. Do not stat chase passing-yards or get cute. Just win baby.

.
If we do this 12 more times, there won't be anyone left on the roster to play football

Btfsblk...Joe Btfsblk...aka Mr. Perpetual Downer
I'm afraid I'm of the generation where reading the newspaper comics as kids was an important part the morning routine. And, Dad was allowed to read the newspaper (and the comics) at the breakfast table before going to work but that was a privilege not for the kids (except for unusual one-day celebrations like straight A's)

I remember the Li'l Abner comics well (although probably some of the humor went over my head as a small child), but I thought Joe Btfsblk was more of a well meaning but helpless jinx than a perpetual downer. However, I guess if you are constantly jinxing everyone around you that could be a little depressing I guess.

My wife and I respectfully disagree on the whole "jinxing" thing. Despite being a scientist I think there is more that we don't understand about reality than what we do understand, that is fine. However, I just can't understand why saying something like: "well, the weather looks great for this driving trip" is automatically a jinx that will cause bad weather like she thinks

Not sure who is worse Sam Darnold or Adam Archuleta?? Guess Bryant Gumbel got the short straw,Archuleta 's commentary is not only incorrect for the most part, but boring as hell.
Well Adam did look dapper in his suit

Yeah as a kid I always felt bad for Joe. Seemed like a well-meaning bloke, just cursed.

Bill and McCaffrey basically walked off the field together lol
Bill has known him since he was born. Remember Ed McCaffrey with the Giants?

Is Jacoby Myers okay?

He seems to not being giving full effort lately, and there have been times where he's dropping or hot potatoing easy catches, and can't seem to win a 1on1 fade to save his life.

I'd love to see him get into the endzone, but he's playing like he's either hurt, or isn't interested.

He was just trying to slow the guy down form recovering the fumble, big babies in Carolina, it wasn't dirty.
I guess they need and excuse as to why they lost, that mean patriot qb played dirty
