Wynn weeks 1-6:

3 sacks
3 hits
8 hurries
3 penalties
46th/61 pass block efficiency

Wynn weeks 7-8:

0 sacks
2 hits
0 hurries
2 penalties
6th pass block efficiency

Tough matchup with Brian Burns. Wynn has a chance to turn the corner this week.

Wynn is getting better but still needs to get his confidence back in PP. As someone else said part of the improved stats are team effort. Which is normal and how Pats often played.

What no one cares to talk about is his great job run blocking, screens, second level.. He was solid in this important department all season when he played.

He also needs to stay on the field. He missed a few plays again last week. And the first play Herron replaced him he was called for holding that took away not only TD but the rhythm of offence and momentum. And when Wynn returned after some time the hold (not as costly) was called on him..

Gilmore's first game back last week he already got an INT. People are dismissing him based on just age. Gilmore is still an elite CB1 and the Pats D doesn't work without elite man corners. And the front office HAS absolutely whiffed for several years until recent improvements with Wolf and Groh involved. It's really crushed the team with so many bad drafts. Also your schtick is getting old not watching the actual games (it's obvious) and then regurgitating what others are saying in your post-game summaries.

First, Gilmore did not play like an elite CB last year even before he was injured. I don't think he is elite anymore.

Second, let's not overstate his game last week. He was only in for handful of plays and the interception was a horrible pass by Matt Ryan right to Gilmore. Gilmore had decent coverage, but Ryan threw the ball right to Gilmore. If Ryan threw the ball harder over Gilmore, the receiver had a lot of daylight in front of him and some separation from Gilmore.

I know there's eagerness from organizational stooges here to diss Gilmore and make it seem like it was all good to cheap out on him and that the D is OK.
It is not.
Pats D with Gilmore last year gave up a 80 QB rating, without Gilmore they gave up a 100 QB rating.
Mills is not a good CB2.
Given the crappy staff around BB I fully expect them to screw up not keeping JC Jackson and then get ready for a crappy defense in 2022 that can't stop 3rd down.

Yup... and they have an 82.5 QB Rating against so far this year without him. So in your crusade to slam everything the front office does, that argument is one of your weakest yet.

Let's see who they've beaten up on. 2 Jets games and other non-elite QBs. You can't be serious.

Yeah, Prescott, Brady, and Herbert. Clearly they've faced nobodies. And only Prescott of those three even matched his rating on the season (didn't surpass it, just matched it), so yes, I'm quite serious. I'm not even saying they wouldn't be better if Gilmore was healthy and playing for them all year. Just clearly it's not this colossal bungling that you're trying to make it out to be.

Funny, you're citing the Cowboys game as a success.... Most total yards ever given up by a BB defense ever ??? And allowed the most passing yards ever in a game in BB's career.

Ok you're clearly biased. Beating Zach Wilson a couple times skews the numbers.

This defense especially guys like Mills, Bentley, Godchaux are not good.

Here's the breakdown of each QB's rating on the season versus what they put up against the Patriots:

Tua - 85.9 (79.6 against the Pats)
Wilson - 63.5 (37 against the Pats)
Winston - 102.8 (110.8 against the Pats)
Brady - 108.6 (70.8 against the Pats)
Mills - 80.2 (141.7 against the Pats... this is the really bad one)
Prescott - 115.0 (108.7 against the Pats)
White - 92.3 (64.8 against the Pats)
Herbert - 94.8 (66.7 against the Pats)

So 1 game where it's horribly worse than it should have been.
3 games where it's within 10 points of their season average, one way or the other (with two being slightly better)
and 4 games where it's nearly 30 points better than the season average of that player.

I'm going by rating, which is what you cited to begin with, which was a garbage argument. But you'll never admit that, because Josh McDaniels kicked your puppy when you were nine.

His sacks & hurries allowed per game are down, while his penalties & hits allowed per game are up... Dude simply ain't our LT of the Future... Could be our LG of the Future however...

Thank you. I appreciate the work. And it helps to build the case that Steve, maligned here, has been doing a good job as DC.

Ok. Well I hope this is the case then the rest of the year that the secondary is great without Gilmore. Lock up JC and extend him, at this point why wait. I get antsy over BB getting crappy advice from arrogant but wrong staff who will tell him they can replace JC Jackson somehow.

Nah I have nothing against the guy personally. He's probably a normal guy. Clearly keeps in touch with multiple college roommates. I just have no tolerance for lowIQ employees with influence for a sports team I want to win a lot and have a lot of continued success.
