Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Chargers

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

LB play definitely has been an issue this season, IMO.
Here is where I'll agree - the LB play of specifically Van Noy and HT has been an issue. Judon, Uche, and Bentley are contributing at a pretty consistent level (now whether that level meets expectations i.e. Uche rushing the passer is another story). Bentley has returned to his rookie level which was unexpected to the positive. Judon has just been a beast.

LOL. This is probably just chirping right back at JC Jackson.

What is it about the Chargers and losing to the Patriots on their own field, yet somehow then going off on how un-special our CBs are? Just a culture of losing and choking. Have they fielded a quality special teams unit in the last 15 years?

I find quite amusing that when they run in the red zone there are many posts saying "what's wrong with McD, they need to pass it" and when they pass in the red zone "what's wrong with McD, they need to run in the red zone."

Can we just change it to "damn it McD, ONLY call plays that work!"? Cut out the worry of having to remember whether the complaint was "run" or "pass" last week.
To be fair, there's a difference between being on the 20 vs the 2. I am not hater but I was pretty bummed about not running it from so close.

My general thoughts feel critical, although I'm really pleased with the game.

It's still very disappointing to see simple tackles and bad positioning lead to a 75 yard touchdown run that should have been less than 10.

It's still very disappointing to see a promising drive stopped by a fumble.

Yet the team overall showed a lot of determination and never gave up.

The OL provided decent amount of time to Jones and good run blocking.

The DL provided some key pressures, and the DBs provided good coverage, plus of course AP's two INTs.

The LBs still seem to be a weakness.

PFF says:

STs provided the FGs and some great field position via Olszewski.

Coaching overall seemed to keep Herbert fairly confused.

As usual, there were some really mysterious play calls from Josh, but it seems he's willing to take more chances than he was earlier in the season.

Let Mac cook! :D

Bentley is the weak link at LB. Ignore the fake tackle numbers. This guy is bad like Monty Beisel was and Gary Guyton. Not the right stuff. Takes bad angles, whiffs on key tackles. This isn't fixable. Give Collins all of Bentley's snaps.

.

What does NEM mean?

I agree and i allready put Collins in the "issue list"

NEM's dead, baby, NEM's dead.
I remember Nems posts.
I wanted to laugh at this for the pulp fiction refrence.
However if Nem really has left this world I didn't want to laugh.
Conflicted.

I think he really is deceased and my joke was funny (IMO) but awful. Not really like me but for some reason I had to do it.

Collins "whiff" on Hebert is something I'd expect from a PeeWee football team where the players have trouble seing out of their helmets. Not from an NFL player..

Van Noy was directly responsible for TDs in the Cowboys game and the Chargers game because =he decided to freelance instead of doing his job. In the Cowboys game, he came off Schultz as Dak was being run out of the pocket. Dak made the easy throw to Schultz for a 28 yard pick-up. Had Van Noy stayed on Schultz until AFTER Dak crossed the LOS, Van Noy could have made a play then..

In the Chargers game, instead of staying with Keenan Allen as he ran across the middle, Van Noy passed him off to thin air and Allen was wide open for the TD..

I seem to remember that is the case, PJ. Been about 10 years now..

If I give you a haha emoji, will I be struck by lightning? I feel like I have to do it but
dont want to invoke the Wrath of God.

Blowhard Rex Ryan is responsible for calling Mac a "pea-shooter". Tells you how a foot-licker sees the world.
Agreed he should have a gawd damn snack and suck some toes

Don't understand why these blitzes work when we can all see it coming? Does Mac not see it? Do his skill players not adjust their routes? Is this something that has been improving?
Are you seriously saying you don’t understand how blitzing could work?
