lol at the sad state of "sports journalism"

Curran made a mistake and the sky is falling, Boston Sports Media in general is a lot hysterical and often relies on anecdotal evidence to try to make a larger point..

Currently Tom E. is about as good as we've got, he has made mistakes in the past, but overall he has been a B+ reporter on all things Patriots.. he first and foremost a fan of this team.

Bad journalism is someone tweeting a trade is done or a contract is agreed, and it's not.

This occured because journalism is now 24/7.

Curran had the Mac will be named starter opinion before anyone this year.

He earned his stripes just off that call.

Used to like Tom, now he just wants clicks and to be controversial

I
1.75? Youre a rookie.
Wait til you hit the big 3.0

lol......honestly my contacts make it a little worse......without them i could probably pull 1.5s......but with my current contact scrip i can see 20/15 on a good day, so i refuse to alter that haha

Curran isn't even in top 10 of offensively bad Boston sports media chowder heads lol

He's one of the better ones IMO, he has his faults but compared to the rest of the lineup around here, he's not bad.
Agreed. Though Curran has no doubt lost his fastball and is into hair transplants, this thread title would be better served by other better examples. Gaspar, Felgergarb, etc. come first to mind but there are others. I ignore the so-called professionals and prefer to read what the better informed analytical posters here have to say even when I disagree.

i think a) the post i linked is symptomatic of the issue......it's about getting stuff out without any regard to the actual content....just get it out quick and get the hit count/likes up and b) tom curran that you see in print is not the same guy you see on twitter.....his twitter lately has without a doubt been trending him towards the rest of the steaming pile that is boston sports media

it bothers me because i liked curran in the past, and he still does some decent work.......he's just sliding quickly back towards the rest, as the game is changing, and not for the better

Like every Sony electronic devise that broke the day after the warranty expired, Age 45 is apparently when the 'man warranty" expires.
First the eyes....though I blame PatsFans.com for contributing to my deteriorating reading capabilities.
Better lawyer up
I think you're right...45 is about right it feels like. And I'm sure these 20+ years of staring at my laptop screen probably hasn't helped my eyes. My wife has been warning me for years about that and I'm not real pleased about her being right ... I've already heard it a few times

I saw this tweet and and then googled their record, making sure I wasn't the one that was high. Mumbled something derogatory and moved on. I like Tom, I hate twitter and the race to be relevant. It's not a typo, it's a genuine eff up. Meh. Happens to all of us. Twitter sucks. Social media sucks. I'll go find his writing and listen to the podcast.

I think it's interesting to see how he seems to struggle with his conscious.

I doubt Felger and Mazz ever had a conscious, if they did they discarded it a long time ago and are full-on trolls.

Curran mixes in the trolling with more straight forward analysis.

He thinks he's earning points with fans of both styles, but IMO he's managing to annoy both and thus just drifting into mediocrity.

He seems fine with that, he's taken a lot of money out of the Dynasty run, gets his mug on TV a lot, and feeds his family.

I guess we should be glad he seems uncomfortable going into full-on troll mode, we already have enough of them.

Still it's sad this is the best we can do.

He seems to be the Al Bundy of Boston sports media, a happy idiot making his way through life.

Dig that stereo behind Red...I had one very similar as a teen during the mid-'70s too...
