McCaffrey would be a huge trade piece two years ago. Now you gotta wonder if he will ever be the player he used to. He's played six games so far in the past two seasons (three games each season) and he hasn't been the dynamic rusher when he has played. With his base salary from 2023-2025 each season being $12 million, I wouldn't trade for him right now. I don't think McCaffrey has the value people think he does right now. I would question if he will even be in the league by the time this contract ends after the 2025 season.

Yeah but this is the same Texans that traded a HOF Wr in his prime for a past his prime RB that was no where near a HOF level.

Wow, that's a huge risk for Carolina. Trading CMAC for a guy with legal troubles. They must so desperate in Carolina for a QB.

Not really. One is an overused RB and the other is a top 10 QB. He will play eventually and honestly they should want to get out of the RB contract.

As for this rumor, unless Watson waived his no trade, he's not going to Carolina

They have already reported he is willing to go to any team just to get out of Houston.

Was this recently because many reports last week were that he was only willing to waive it for Miami which honestly made no sense. Imagine being paid to sit wanting a trade in his situation and then blocking all teams but 1.

Right, but it's a big assumption that "he will play eventually."

Olivia Culpo jinxed him.

I don't think so but I see why some people do. He will play and it won't be too long. He's guilty of taking out his private part trying to pick up girls. If they had more than that he would of been brought in. Say he doesn't play this year I think it's still worth it. Who knows how it will shake out though and you are right there is some risk because the NFL is so unpredictable in how it does business.

In the current environment we are in, I can't imagine Goodell letting him play. The league is just waiting for something to happen legally so that they have an excuse to ban him.

Those people who made that trade are no longer with the Texans. Nick Caserio is running the show now.

With Congress looking at the whole WFT sexual harassment investigation and whether the NFL swept everything under the rug, I think Goodell wouldn't want to let a player with 22 sexual assault/rape allegations and a criminal investigation going on to play. It will just make a bad situation worse.

Goodell is just happy that the Texans have been doing the dirty work for him and suspending Watson so he doesn't have to. But if he is traded, he would have to make that decision.

Thinking about it though, I think the Dolphins might be willing to accept him being suspended this year if they were assured that they would get him back by mid next year if they traded for him. I mean their season is pretty much lost anyway. Not sure if Carolina would be as willing to accept that.

Interesting thought, it's honestly hard to say.
However I don't think Carolina nor Miami realistically believes they have a strong chance at winning anything this year.
