Sad to see BB's legacy ripped apart like this

I don't think Bill sucks, but there were people years ago who thought Bill could win with any player.

It doesnt seem like he can. We are 2-4 and coming off a losing season.

Bill is a great coach but I have wondered if like Landry, its his time. We'll see.
If I recall with Landry, and one or two others, some of those wins at the end were embarrassing where it seemed like the team stopped buying in. If that starts happening here, I'd agree with you but I don't feel like we're even close to there just yet.

I agree.

I am giving Bill this season and next at the very least.

Not even remotely accurate
I would say it's possibly accurate for his first year (2001), but by 2003, he had more than come into his own. I would say @Jercules may want to go back and watch those games from that season and compare that to 2001. He was a completely different player by then.

I'd like to know why people think Brady went to 9 Super Bowls and Rogers and Brees only went to 1 with their teams. Brady is not 9 times better than them.

I think it was because of Belichick's coaching, drafting, trades, free agent acquisitions, and salary cap management.

It's sort of a miracle, if you think about it. To have two decades of success, followed by one tough year (2020) where after that season you land your next franchise QB and suffer one campaign of growing pains (2021) before you turn back into being competitive again, that's all any fan could dream of. All you need to do is look around the league to realize that if this works out, that would be pretty incredible compared to other franchises who haven't sniffed success in decades.

Look at the Colts. They lost Manning, landed Luck (who I don't believe was as good as Mac) but he obviously never got it together and had his career cut short due to injury. They haven't gotten back to that level since and now have their hopes set on Wentz...who the verdict remains out on, but I don't feel confident that he'll be a long-term fix, either.

OK, let's settle things down. Again, I'm OK with people criticizing Belichick if they at least are constructive and offer up discussion points. It's the "Bill sucks", etc. that drives me crazy, so as long as we stay away from that - and as long as people are ready for the backlash - I can handle it.

Bill sucks.

I don't think it's his time yet but the finish line is a lot closer than we'd like to think.

Said it before - I think when we start hearing leaders like Slater or D-Mac or even Mac himself start speaking to the media on behalf of the locker room calling out the coaching, not being put in the best spot to succeed, or things like that.... then I think it will be time. That's not happening yet.

Firing Bill right now because we're mad that Brady's not here anymore and Bill still is would be nothing more than compounding one huge error with another. It won't fix the first one, that's done. IMO

Luck >>> Mac.

Mac is well on the way to ending up like Luck and you know what I mean by that. Pats have a lot of work to do this offseason to fix what should not have been a season killing weakness up front.
Yeah, the Colts were inept when it came to protecting him and honestly, they didn't do Manning any favors either ("I'm trying to be a good teammate here...") and probably cut his career short as well. Mac joked that he likes getting hit, but I agree with you, they need to fix that sooner rather than later.

D-Mac called out the coaching after Sunday's game.

I wouldn't say that. This is what he said:

“We were in a tough call, I think, for the route they ran,” he said during a postgame press conference. “They dialed up a good play for what we tried to do — kind of situational football. What they like to do — we tried to take it away, and Dak was able to hold it for a second. We kind of took the first two reads: the tight ends to the flat on our left side. But (he) extended the play, and got back to the middle and that’s where we were kinda light at and that was it.”

Belichick echoed what he said:

“We covered a flat receiver and then he just on the over route with another extended play. Obviously didn’t play it well enough, didn’t coach it well enough,” he said after the game."

I really wonder how the Gilmore trade went over in the locker room. The secondary has been awful the last 2 weeks.

I don't know...talk to me two years from now - we'll see how things are going then
I really liked Luck, he had a ton of talent and was good enough to lead a team to a SB, Indy just failed putting enough behind him - actually, in front of him is more accurate.

Mac has played 6 games, looooots of time to blossom, definitely not doing him justice to make any concrete judgment this early.

I believe it was Bedard yesterday who said that the Patriots D was in a cover 1/robber defense on the 3rd and 25 pass that went for 24 yards and set Dallas up for the tying FG. It was an unbelievable bad call given all we had to do was line up our DBs at the sticks and give them anything they wanted underneath but for some reason our LBs were actually covering their TEs and because of the robber, we were late getting to the deep in-cut.
Absolutely head scratching and have to wonder how that call went over with D-Mac.

I'm sure guys weren't happy about it. I'm not as down on Mills as others. Watching the film because I've been working on defensive snap counts (still haven't finished these just yet on that side of the ball) and have had to focus on guys a little more, he's been decent for the most part and has actually been one of their better tacklers. It hasn't been perfect as of late, but his overall body of work has been pretty good.
