Your expectations are way out of whack. 6.5 seems about average for top qbs making their first few starts. Im guessing very few qbs historically have been up in the +7 ypa range starting out. Here’s a great post by Pape on another thread that compares his 5 starts against some other QBs.
Actually my expectations are fine, the one saying he will have 27 td's and 12 ints this year is out of whack. Can you guys at least read the other posts before you comment?

Also. YPA is not how far you throw the ball. I am not sure why people think it is.

This is not a put down of Jones, he is playing about the way I expected he would be playing. But some act like he is the greatest rookie QB of all time. He is about where he should be. No more, no less.

He has 5 td's and 5 ints. That is average in 5 games. Actually in todays football, that is not even average. 71 percent, has he thrown a ball farther than 15 yards in the air? Like 1? I actually looked this up. He has 2 passes 20 yards in the air all year. 2. To put that in prespective. Qb's have 40 of such passes. He is throwing safe passes and that is fine, becuase that is what you want him to do, but that does not lead to 300 yards and 3 td games like was mentioned unless also like I said, he throws 50 times. Everything I said, in response to what was said, is true. Its not a knock, its what he is being asked to do.

To go through every metric.
PFF he is ranked between Tyrod taylor and David Mills. 23rd
in Qb rating he is between Heinike and Darnold 25th
In QBR 23rd.

This is what he is right now, thats it. It does not mean its bad, it means he is young and not asked to do a lot. QB's not asked to do a lot, end up not doing a lot.

So saying he has played well? Well it depends on where your bar is set. He is in the bottom quarter of the league in 3 used metrics.
So no, I am not wrong, which is why I said, I cannot predict something that he has not done yet. I am funny like that, I have to actually see this be done.
PFF is not a metric and passer rating is a formula for novice fans that is a terrible way to judge a qb.
Watch him play. You are wrong.

I did read the entire thread. I didn’t see any post even approaching calling him the “greatest rookie QB of all time”. I just saw a post predicting he will have a 300 yard game, which seems to have set you off for some reason unbeknownst to me. I guess negative people really get triggered by positivity.

So you are doing a complete guess based on nothing? Ok. I guess that works. I am sure he will have another good game at some point, they still get to play the jets and jags this year.
Hey there negative Nancy. We already know you think pretty lowly of Mac. Dude is going to prove you wrong

1 td is not close to 3....He said 302 and 3 td's. Since his throws are about 5 yards, he will need to throw about 55 times to get to that number.
Your new nickname is Oscar the Grouch

Lawrence Guy - steaming pile of sh*t
Josh Uche - steaming pile of sh*t
Dont'a Hightower - steaming pile of sh*t
Jamie Collins - steaming pile of sh*t
J.C. Jackson - steaming pile of sh*t
Jonathan Jones - steaming pile of sh*t
Devin McCourty - steaming pile of sh*t
Adrian Phillips - steaming pile of sh*t
Christian Barmore - steaming pile of sh*t
Kyle Dugger - steaming pile of sh*t
Jalen Mills - steaming pile of sh*t
What a performance that star studded lineup had against Davis Mills. Truly elite.

Uche, Phillips and Mills are playing well. Most of the rest of the guys you listed have been a disappointment.

HT and to a lesser extent McCourty look washed. Lawrence Guy has been very mediocre.

Collins just came back but it’s not like he has been anything to write home about since his last stint here.

JC and JJ are looking like above average DB’s with Gilmore gone.

Dugger meh.

Dallas hasn't been particularly good defensively and I don't see any reason the Patriots shouldn't be able to move the ball. Red zone efficiency is another animal however and the Cowboys are really solid at every position offensively. Probably not a game we can win if we don't put the ball in the end zone.

Uche is playing so well he had had how many tackles and pressures (his role in this defense)? Your disappointment meter needs to be adjusted as the Uche hype has not panned out as of yet this season while Dugger is actually playing well in his role with run support and TE/RB coverage.

Collins is judged by three whole snaps (on one of which he got a sack that killed a potential scoring drive)?

Playing from behind vs Miami and Houston, Uche played 15 & 14 snaps (1 sack)
With a comfortable lead vs the Jets who thus had to ramp up its passing attack........35 snaps (2 sacks)

Thru week 5 ...Uche has played 29% of defensive snaps (Winovich 24%)

His role: 3rd & long pass rush specialist tasked with getting after the QB........... not tackling WRs

If NE continues to struggle scoring points/getting leads and the defense can't create 3rd & longs, Uche's pass rush opportunities will be minimal and his stats will underwhelm. The fortunes of the team and its players are interconnected.
-------------------------------------
And because you mentioned Duggar....
Yes, in the role he is meant for, run support & TE/RB coverage, Duggar has done well.
But when tasked to play beyond his role: covering WRs last week, he was exposed

I hope we come out with a W. 4 straight home losses would be really bad

We need to play a solid game for an eventual win
This DAL team looks good this year
