Well I mean it "could" rain gold nuggets. lol These predictions of QB's are worthless. Because despite a lot of people saying Mac Jones is joe montana he is 21st in the league in QB grades. Now I know, he is a rookie, but a rookie last year ripped it up, so it can happen. He has done some things that is impressive for a QB, but not unheard of. It is way to early to make statements like, oh well if Brady was here and we were still winning, we would not have drafted this player who may or may not be good some day.

Nobody is ready to run Bill out of town for that. He did make a franchise-altering blunder in judgement about Brady so…

And lots of losing teams can say if this and if that we’d be good. That’s why they’re losing teams.

At the time that decision was made there was no Mac. Bill assumed Brady was done and he wasn’t. He figured Brady was like any 40+ year old QB and didn’t realize or chose not to that if there’s one once in a lifetime exception to that it’s Brady.

It was certainly a big blunder, but an understandable one based on past history. BEFORE Tom Brady won his Superbowl at age 43 with Tampa Bay, the oldest QBs to win a superbowl are shown in the table below. When one takes out Brady's 2019 (at 41) and 2017 (at 39) Superbowls, the oldest are: Peyton Manning at 39 (and he really was a shell of himself in that 2016 Superbowl) and Earl Morrall and John Elway at age 38. Brady had already won one at 39 and another at 41 (already completely unprecedented), so it was perfectly reasonable for BB to expect Brady's performance to fall off a cliff. As it turns out, Brady is the ultimate outlier, winning another Superbowl at 43 and still playing at a top level at 44, it is simply amazing. So BB did make a big blunder, but it was a completely reasonable one and is only because Brady simply does not seem to follow the normal laws of decreased performance for aging QBs, at least not yet.

The problem is that Belichick had already been wrong about Brady's longevity once before, when he drafted JAG in 2014. And, just as with 2013, 2019 was a year where the offense collapsed around Brady, and that wasn't properly factored into the team's analysis. So you'll have to forgive me if I don't consider Belichick screwing that up a second time to be understandable, particularly given that Brady had just led the team to 4 SBs in 5 seasons.

That sucks because it means he probably tested positive. If an unvaxxed player is just a close contact he can return in 5 days, IF he doesn't test positive during that period. His 5th day was today. If he tests positive at any time during that period, he has to sit out ten days. If he did test positive, he may also be out for next weeks game since theoretically he can't join the team until next Friday.

This blows. All four starting OTs and Gs out. Bill needs to find a FA OT ASAP! Go after Schwartz, who is just sitting there. Figure out what you have to do to squeeze money out of the cap space since you blew it all on your shopping spree this March.

If you step back from all the brouhaha and handflapping over quarterbacks - returning ones, washed-up ones, new ones - and look at the team, it doesn't look good. Those areas in which it was thought the team might be solid, even superior - O-line, RB's, others - have been disappointments.

We thought we were working to build a strong team to support a struggling rookie quarterback. Instead, the TEAM is struggling to field a team worthy of a rookie who has on offense at least turned out to be arguably their best player. That ain't good. If they don't win THIS creampuff game, it might even be worse than that.

The New England Patriots announced that they have elevated DB Myles Bryant, OL James Ferentz, OL Alex Redmond and OL Will Sherman to the active roster. In addition, the Patriots placed OL Trent Brown on injured reserve.
