Official Pre Game Thread- Pats @ Texans

Texans are awful, maybe worst in the league. Pats will win and then people will think everything is great again, superbowl here we come.
The projection is strong here.

What WILL happen if the Patriots manage to get a win on the road with 4-of-5 OL starters out is that the same 4 or 5 Wahwahs will come in and say, "Oh please, the Texans are worse than a college team!" "It's just the Texans! Means nothing!"

"It's just the Jets!" scream the Titans' Felgerites after the Titans beat...oh wait. Never mind.

Any win in the NFL is a good win, unless you suffer major injuries in the process. Full stop.

People here are ready to run Bill out of town because we are 0-3 at home this year. If Harris doesn't fumble and Folk makes that kick, we'd likely be 3-1 or 2-2 at worst.
Nobody is ready to run Bill out of town for that. He did make a franchise-altering blunder in judgement about Brady so…

And lots of losing teams can say if this and if that we’d be good. That’s why they’re losing teams.

He’s injured. Injuries heal at different rates, injuries can be healing and then reoccur or have a set back.
The calf health of a 360 lb man isn’t something we can understand based upon specious rumors about how he is doing.
Sure we don’t like it, but injuries happen.

He's milking this for all it's worth, just like most of the under-motivated mercenaries here are doing.

Texans are dreadful. Maybe a historically bad football team. OL issues or not this team has no business playing us close. If they do then Bill’s seat ought to warm up.

Trent Brown’s effort was seriously questioned before 2018 so it should be no shock that his time here that year was an aberration.

Mac got absolutely trucked by White.

White was complimentary of Mac after the game. Impressed with his poise even after they hit him a lot of times.

And there was this:

Imagine that, pre-snap communication issues with the STARTERS.

What do we think is going to happen when we field five dudes that haven't been playing together (one making first game appearance)? I'm truly worried about Mac. I wouldn't suggest to play Hoyer instead. That would be comical. We need to protect him as well. He's the brains inside the QB room.

Instead, it's clearly time to start Garrett Gilbert. Let him take the pounding. Team can certainly beat Mills with Gilbert.

Reminder: Texans had -23 net passing yards in the first half last Sunday. As in MINUS 23 yards.

If they beat us or come close to doing that then that would be unacceptable and Bill ought to be put on notice for his job.

The Texans might be one of the worst teams in league history. Pats have issues but I expect an easy Pats win on Sunday and nothing less.

Now that we're into Pats with TFB vs Pats without TFB we're now moving onto Brown with Scar vs Brown without Scar

If you look at the average snap count % of our two starting tackles in the last two years: 50.5% (2019) and 44.5% (2020); you have to wonder, how is it that nobody had concerns. At the very least they should've gone into the season with solid depth at tackle. Kinda of perplexing.

Trent Brown:

Isaiah Wynn:

Mitchell Schwartz is available. Aside from his injury last season, he's been pretty solid. Sign the beast.

Is it a blunder or too soon to tell? If Brady didn't leave until 45, we don't draft Mac. If Mac becomes elite, he made the right call.

At the time that decision was made there was no Mac. Bill assumed Brady was done and he wasn’t. He figured Brady was like any 40+ year old QB and didn’t realize or chose not to that if there’s one once in a lifetime exception to that it’s Brady.

Ok, but I'd rather have an elite QB for the next 10-15 years than the GOAT for just 3 years. It could work out better than expected for us.

Do we know Mac is elite? I’m not ready to go above even career backup quite yet. That’s where lots of first round QBs end up.

How do you know that? It’s like you think it because you want it to be true.
You have no idea what the severity of the injury is.

Well that's definitely the inverse of what I expected based on Bill's comments...
What comments? I didn’t see any that led me to believe is was certain any of these guys would play.

Because losing is losing. If we have become one of those teams who are happy for close losses, then things really have changed.
Who ever said that?

He won't, so he didn't.
