Wickersham book discussion

Yes it is made to discuss but to have nothing to say but criticism about the best who has ever done it is ignorant.
Yes his job is to win and he has won more than anyone. Appreciate that. You aren’t a browns fan, you have been gifted more success than any fan has a right to expect, yet all you can do is cry.
Past success does not indicate current success.

I give Bill all the credit he deserves for his past success.

I also was hopeful for last season. I thought the pats had a real chance at making a strong playoff run.

I thought Bill was going to work his magic with Cam and restore him to his former MVP glory.

I thought Bill was going to have a strong run game that was meant to have long drives that killed the clock which would be the kryptonite to high powered offenses like the Chiefs.

The team didn't even break .500 last year.

I've been impressed with Mac and think he has the ability to be at least a QB you can win with.

I don't care what Bill has done. He needs to win, I won't be happy with him as HC if he produces losing seasons the next 5 years.

Why?

I am fan and want to see the Pats win. I don't care who the HC is as long as they are able to win.

the absolute proof of Bill Belichick's genius????????????????????

The Jets did give us the greatest play of all time.

The Buttfumble.

I'm just so happy it happened against the Pats

This team had no chance last year. It had the worst qb in the nfl because it was all they could afford.
If you don’t want losing seasons the next 5 years I suggest you warm up to the GOAT.

I am just making a point.

I know 5 years hasn't passed yet, obviously. Also, I'm not even saying this season will end poorly. I am just playing the "if" game.
Why would you play the “if his future is the exact opposite of his track record” game? It’s silly.

And newton isn’t on the team. Try to keep up.

Theres a difference here. Ted Williams proved regardless of the talent or coaching you put around him, he’s still a career .344 hitter. Which is incredible. Even in 1957 at age 38 with bum knees he hit .388 beating out a prime Mickey mantle who hit .365. Mantle may have been one of the best ever

Which brings me too..can bill win without brady? He couldn’t do it before brady, can he do it after? So far it hasn’t been pretty
Dismissing 20 years of his success is ridiculous.

Again, Newton is not here.

I'm watching Brady but his winning in Tampa doesn't help the Pats

Not dismissing. I could point out a lot of good that he did. But there’s no doubt brady is much more important to the teams success.

All the people dancing on pats and BB's grave never thought brady would win last yr when they were 7-5 and brady forgot 4th down . No one predicted or thought this. Now that it happened , everyone turns around and tells the pats. , you shouldve known he will win a superbowl.

I will second what the last poster said. How many losing seasons would it take for you to question Belichick? Genuinely curious.

Lets put aside the debate and I just want to know where you stand on that.

You are overcompensating.

No one is discrediting Bill from his accomplishments.

But it's fair criticism to point out how he has done nothing as a HC without Brady.

That doesn't mean Bill is a bad HC, or that he isn't one of the GOATs. It's a simple fact.

Even his 1 year with Matt Cassell that people love to bring up, like Matt Cassell was garbage, fail to acknowledge that Todd Hailey went to the playoffs with Matt Cassell.

Bill was a critical part of the dynasty but he has not proven anything as a HC outside of Brady. I hope he does

There certainly is doubt.

I never bet against Brady. It's why I didn't shut the TV off against the Falcons.

I'm not betting against Bill either. I thought he was going to do better than he did last year.

I was and am excited for Mac, especially after the Jets game.

Hopefully Bill will take the Pats to the playoffs this year

I can’t answer that. It hasn’t happened.

There certainly is doubt.
Is there?

9 seasons without brady as his starting QB. Zero division titles

17 seasons with brady as his starting qb. 16 division titles
