What is BB's single biggest mistake as Patriot's Head Coach/GM?

Ozzie Newsome and his one ring? Are you serious? What's next, Ted Thompson or John Schneider are better?

He was terrible since 2013. He forgot to sign Flacco going into the 2012 postseason. He's the very reason why these QBs now make 40 mil per or Kirk Cousins makes 28 per. Flacco had him over a barrel. It's a big reason why Baltimore has been masking their overrated teams and how they missed the postseason in 2015, 2016 and 2017. And, then he was fired over it. This is better than BB? Laughable.

Newsome can't hold BB's jock. No one can. Newsome is lucky BB got Kokinos an extra pick in the '96 draft for Ray Ray. I give him credit for drafting the great Ed Reed, though. And, if you want a GM who REALLY can't draft WRs, that was Ozzie Newsome. He was horrible. Torrey Smith was his best in his 15 years of being the GM.

How many dynasties has Ozzie built anyway?
This is such a bogus argument. Ozzie built great teams, he just had to beat the greatest qb coach combo ever to make it to the superbowl.
Faulking weak argumeny

Why are you acting as if the offense has been good. It hasn't been good since Brady and Gronk carried the oc. Pats offense has sucked for 2.5 years now. By the way the hottest HC candidate right now in the leaghue is Byron Leftwich, he is an offensive genius and the Bucs look unstoppable.

.
You edit every single post you make. And they still read like you have DS scribbling on a bumpy road.

And who changed the uniforms? There MUST be some way to pin that on BB...right?
No. That's on Robert Kenneth Kraft.

Orthwein conveniently perpetrated the atrocity, with Bob's assistance.

Kraft uses 'money' as a primary excuse, as though it was the expense of creating our logo for 32 years, not ownership financial ineptitude or the Victory Tour which put the franchise into bankruptcy.

Kraft appreciates the last 27 years of team history. Nothing prior.

He'd have 2 more rings if he wasn't aimlessly standing in the shotgun over and over all game long in the same spot, staring down only 2 of his favorite receivers over and over without wanting to use his run game.

Dude just admit it. The repeat shotgun is mcD not Brady. Pats are still doing repeat shotgun now despite 2TEs. that's all skippy. Brady lives in Florida now.

Join the chorus.

No, it's not. It's Brady. He said himself in 2013 on WEEI that he "prefers the shotgun".

End of story. BB wanted to appease his HOF QB, so he got him the toys he wanted and he underperformed in postseasons. You can't change facts and history just because you think Brady walks on water and never made a mistake.

You don't like facts.

6-10 teams are "great" teams?

lol imagine thinking Josh is bullying Brady into shotgun.

again how are you this slow considering you live in a football forum. might want to find a new hobby lol

There’s no way I’ve seen evidence that Josh is better than Leftwich, or really any coordinator. The Bucs offensive gameplan in SB55 was way more innovative, and made it easier on Brady, than anything Josh came up with in SB42, SB49, SB51, or SB53. And the Bucs had a great offense, but statistically it wasn’t close to 2007 and was similar to 2014 and 2017.

Personally, I think Josh is completely overrated, and I’ve thought that for a long time. Everyone thought “well, there’s no way Bill would choose him if he isn’t the best!” Well, Charlie Weiss amounted to a hill of beans, Bill O’Brien is a dolt, Matt Patricia sucks and was outclassed by Brian Flores. Josh isn’t that bad…he’s just not an actual advantage. And Brady has demonstrated he’ll kill it with any style of receiver/TE who has talent and isn’t a total moron for routes. The long held belief that Brady needed of some specific EP type of receiver, so Josh can out-fox the DC through 5D chess, has become a joke.

While I don’t understand his insane obsession and blaming Josh for everything including scouting and personnel, I do agree with some of what DKF is talking about. I’ve always hated Josh’s red zone play calling and his stubborn insistence on shotgun for short yardage situations.

I dunno what the worst is, but I have to imagine his stupid ****ing blunder of sticking it to Butler with such stubbornness and losing that SB was huge. Even if Butler played and we still lost, it shows a coach that did everything he could and I think frustrations would've been a bit more tempered, which may have helped out relationships.

Totally just spitballing, but I really do think that was a really dumb decision and literally yielded nothing. I doubt anyone on that team was like "damn, I'm glad Bill stuck to his guns on that one."

Byron Leftwich, Super Genius.

I love that you don't even see the nuance in the post. So great you continue to validate how obtuse you are. the perfect sidekick for bcg.

You are a psycho poster. But just for fun go ahead and post proof that it's Brady. Show a link. Even though Brady lives in Florida now and yet the Pats even right now still insist on stupid shotgun despite having 2 good expensive tight ends.

Teams without the greatest qb of all time and the greatest coach of all time will have down years. Look at the bucs.

I mean I am not sure if Leftwhich is great, but I am not a big McDaniels fan. Sometimes he gets way to vanillia where I am sitting at home calling the plays before they happen. I remember a number of years I just wanted 1 freaking playaction inside the 5 yard line on second down. It works almost everytime.

Brady has won the most playoff games in NFL history. He won 6 titles and went to 9 superbowls with the Patriots, and you are saying he was an underperformer in the postseason? I am sensing a trend with you...It has to do with a prom queen crying on a bench outside the dance.

No, he didn't. THE TEAM DID.

Get help. This isn't tennis and it;'s not golf. Our entire society now is about selfishness and it's killing this country. MeBron and Brady are the poster boys for this.

No, it has to do with me disliking selfish narcissists.

Lastly, BB saved Brady. Brady certainly changed his postseason style and play once JimmyG got here, didn't he? So, there is no 2nd dynasty without BB making that move.

TEAM

Belichick leads it and coaches it. Tom Brady doesn't.

Umm, BB drafted and developed Brady. Get it? Brady was a 6th rd pick. You can't change history just to fit your narrative.

Email WEEI and have them scan their Monday morning archives on those Brady interviews. He said it. Direct quote "I prefer the shotgun". 2013.

You're insecure I know more than you and pay attention more. I am honest fan. You Brady cult followers are the psychos.

Oh good lord...so Belichick made Brady better by drafting a QB that didnt play. Dude you are on another planet. All I know is this. Bill is the best coach of all time, and has 1 playoff win without Brady in his 25 year career as a head coach. He kept Brady on this team for 19 years for some reason. You obviously have some rage going through you that Brady left and still won, and it has left you a mess.

This post is 100% crazy talk. I hate to say it man but you need to be directing your anger not at Tom Brady but at mcd....

.
Every stat you can spin against Brady handy in your back pocket. You're a one trick pony and have been here for a long time. You don't fool anyone

Yeah well here is what actually happened. **** Rehbein was the reason Brady was drafted. Bill had no intention of drafting him. Brady was brought in as a throw away camp body and he worked his way all the way up to being the first on the field when Bledsoe went down. So if it was Bill that developed all of that, why didnt he do it with the QB's that were already on the roster? Did you know that where you are drafted does not dictate what you will be. Is Julian Edelman **** too because he was drafted in the 7th round? Montana was crap, 3rd rounder. But Sam Bradford was the bomb cause he was drafted first.
