Hit Piece

Here's the Peter King stuff:

“Football’s the ultimate blame game,” Brady said. “General managers, head coaches, players, quarterbacks, receivers, defense, offense. It’s so easy to blame someone else. It’s so hard to say, ‘I didn’t get the job done and we collectively didn’t get the job done.’ That’s the best part about team sports. I picked a team where everybody’s like, ‘Hey, we gotta get better.’ It’s not, I got all the answers. You guys just all screwed it up except me.’ Exact opposite way to play the game. You know? You gotta play it together.

“If you’re doing what you love doing and you’re with people you love doing it with, it’s all good. You can go to the Bahamas and play golf with the worst threesome of all time and you’re gonna have a horrible time. Or you can go to the local muni with your three best friends and have the best time. I love the guys I’m working with. This is nothing about New England. I love New England. I love the players. I love the coaches. It was magical.

According to the resident geniuses, this was all clearly a shot at Bill, and the disclaimer about New England was just because he'd realized what he'd done and chickened out.
Ok, after 30 minutes of searching I had found that.

just re-read again and still not seeing the ‚shot at Bill‘ (especially seeing as he said ‚my time there was MAGICAL‘. But I‘ll chaulk it up as „ F“ just making Click bait and not use either his name or search for him to give the douche any sort of click credit.

im out of this thread. Thanks all

On the 10 PM sports show (can't remember the current iteration of the name...maybe Sports Tonight) Felger and Michael Holley just conducted the most disgusting hit job on BB that I've seen to date. Full of innuendo and Felger's specialty where he pulls something out of his ass and then proceeds to add it to his argument as a proven fact. Drafting Garappolo was an epic failure because Bill misjudged Brady's decline, trading him for a second rounder when everyone (EVERYONE) knew they could get 3 firsts for him, signing Newton to a cap friendly contract (completely ignoring that last year was clearly and obviously a year in which they were resetting the cap in preparation for this offseason and the culminating with stating unequivocally that Bill had sesettled on Cam as the starter months ago and nothing was going to change his mind. All this was in service to their argument that Bill HAS THE WORST JUDGEMENT IN THE LEAGUE! Then they dragged up a bunch of stuff that Brady just said on instagram and to Peter King about how much Brady hates Bill. (to be fair, the brady stuff /was/ pretty nasty and really doesn't (imho) reflect very well on him.

I knew Felger was a low life whore, but I entertained fantasies that Holley was at least a /little/ better than this.
I see Team Bill is in plug-your-ears-and-scream mode as usual.

Some of the stuff here is legit, some isn’t. This hissy fit is apropos for the cult though.

Piss off munchkin.

Felger and crew are using these Patriots lean years as their limited opportunity to shiv BB mainly because Bill treats their media cohorts like the weaselly parasitic vulchers they are. And from these parasites perspective, Bill has never appeared more vulnerable. It's blood sport right now and the vulchers all want their pound of BB flesh.........as do the Captains of this world :)
The formula for tabloid sports journalism is not complicated, negativity = ratings, and the Boston market laps it up when teams are down...probably because locals have perpetual cynicism in their DNA thanks to multigeneration Saux failures that have yet to be breeded out :)

One thing I did find a bit tantalizing during the Squeaky and the Douche show was their speculation that Brady has been sending out cryptic Tweets lately in response to a soon to be released Seth Wickersham book about the Patriots. Supposedly, early copies have been sent out to certain media and to subjects in the book and our radio mediots believe Brady is not all that happy with the tone of the book.

Book release date- the week after Pats vs Bucs

Get ready for a mega-thread.

Or what most would call "Wednesday".

Can't be surprised because it doesn't matter whether it's football, baseball, hockey, or basketball - the first rule of sports media - the best way to get attention is to proclaim how badly the team(s) sucks...its players, its coaches, its management, hell even its fans.

Isolate the factions, polarize the issue (take it to an extreme), and then watch both sides of the issue leap into the fray - using that topic as foundation - to support/defend their point of view. It's the politicization of sports.

Ironically, also the foundation of this very forum upon which I am typing and contributing to right now...hypocrite thy name is...me.:eek::eek:

It’s so hard to say, ‘I didn’t get the job done and we collectively didn’t get the job done.’

This is literally what Bill says in every press conference after a loss. Also, whenever anyone asks him a question about how great his career has been he always first and foremost gives credit to the players (“I’ve been fortunate to coach a lot of great players” or “Players win games”).

How those quotes can be construed as a shot across Bill’s bow is beyond me, unless they are trying to claim, without evidence, that Bill blamed everyone but himself behind the scenes, in meetings with the players.

Surprised at Holley, was he encouraging Felger or was he complicit in his silence??

All of sportstalk radio are a cesspool, often I listen to the Zo & Beetle show and get disgusted after Bertram spouts some sort of non existent controversy based on someone's tone of voice or "hidden message", it drives me nutz when either Zolak is silent or leaves the room.

Sportstalk radio is trying to replicate what has made Twitter/Facebook famous: generating false controversies and gauging popularity by how many "clicks" there are relative to that controversy... I find myself listening less and less as time goes on..

Even my non-football SO sees it. She watched clips of BB answering questions and burst out laughing. He’s a hilarious watch.

But to the media, he is “hiding things” and “being arrogant”…. Who cares ? Does he win ? Yes. Does he badmouth players on the team or on the way out ? No. Does that work when he wants to bring someone back ? Yes.

I just don’t get why people are so obsessed with BB’s personality. He wins. Furthermore, the non-answers are hilarious. He should be a media darling. Only one group in the entire world would prefer Coach Campbell to BB : media.

As someone who listens to the show every day I don’t think you really know what you’re talking about with this. But it’s the highest rated sports show in the country by share so maybe you are listening but aren’t willing to admit it.
Whenever a football related matter appears in the media. I go to this site to get an opinion as it is trustworthy. I would never go to talk radio for an informed opinion.

The only possible way to read this was cutting AB, wasting a 2nd on Sanu, and busting a 1st on Harry precipitated Brady's self-exit out of Foxborough. And people tried to blame Brady as being checked out when it was a total lack of weapons. It's McDaniels' fault that Brady isn't here anymore.

.
LOL. Bizarro world has some thoughts.

He's not wrong about the Jimmy trade or Cam signing. The fact that Cam was brought back for a second season is a sign IMO that Bill is either losing it or is so married to his system that the philosophy has become a liability.

Good advertising for the show right there. Felger's just playing his WWF-like character then goes home to Sara chuckling. Side note, I almost miss the days of listening to Dennis and Callahan while driving to work every morning dreaming of chucking eggs at cars with NY license plates.

Their ratings suck. Starting next week Felger's wife is a stay at home mom. He needs to earn his contract by firing up the fan base.

If it wasn't for this team's success he'd be back in Wisconsin milking cows

Jimmy G would have been worth more and bringing Cam back instead of getting Fitzmagic is asinine.

Previously on Felger and Mazz : "The Patriots suck! Belichick sucks! The Red Sox suck! The Bruins suck!"
There's a best of Felger and Mazz that runs on NBC Boston. Is it a joke? Should be the most tolerable of Felger and Mazz.
