Not saying Mac is gonna be a star, but that’s Mac’s mindset. He was probably upset by his performance yesterday, it wasn’t up to HIS standards. He wasn’t horrible by any stretch of the imagination, but I’m sure he wasn’t happy. That’s what makes the great ones great, that insane drive and determination to win, to be great. He has that, who knows if he’ll wind up being a great QB, but he has that self motivation drive to improve every day.

No one is putting Mac in the HOF yet I think. But the more I watch and learn the more I raise his floor. Right now I'm thinking his floor is to be a top 20 QB in this league, which makes him a legit franchise guy. I guess it's a round about way of saying, at this point I think he can at least be Mayfield level, though he plays a very different game.

Brandon the King absolutely ****ing sucks...I cannot wait for the day when that waste of ****ing space leaves the building for good.
This is why you aren't taken seriously by anyone on this board. Ridiculous takes like this. Before being injured in 2019, King was up there with Ebner and Slater in terms of Special Teams players. Making asinine claims like you are doing is just laughable and shows you don't actually pay attention to the games.

During the 4 years prior, King took no less than 52% of the Special teams snaps every year. King has lined up as a GUNNER on Punt Coverage units as well as along the line. So, to say he's a waste of space speaks volumes about your understanding of the game.

I don't mind those mistakes by Mac. Having issues your first time in goal line situations vs a first string D is normal. That is the hardest thing for a QB to deal with. I just want some improvement tomorrow. Sound like he was very good everywhere else on the field against the first string. That will be a key area of the field to watch for him tomorrow.

You mean besides being over-drafted by TWO FULL ROUNDS and not doing a dam thing while he's been here to justify his selection?
Jennings wasn't overdrafted by "Two full rounds". SMH. He was a rookie during the COVID YEAR and during a time when the team had ZERO in the way of Veteran LBs outside of 3rd year LB Bentley.

Do you seriously lack for attention so badly that you have to make things up on a regular basis?

One message this whole Cam/Covid crapfest sends is "You don't even have to get sick to miss a mandatory five days".

Beasley. Run your mouth against the league about the vax policy, find out what happens. As my son would say, play stupid games, get stupid prizes.

You do realize that he's in the 5 day protocol and not the 14 day one, right? Because the TRAINER who had been vaccinated got Covid. And, per the league rules, everyone in contact with said trainer has to go into the protocols.

Quite true. He is an equal opportunity BB-Draft-ite
Captain is the self-proclaimed Draft GOD. His drafts have landed him a whopping ZERO rings in 20 years of complaining about Belichick. While Belichick has 6 rings and 9 SB Trips. I mean. Clearly we should all be in AWE of Captain's Abilities to see exactly how players will develop and win rings.. I mean.. His ZERO rings are just blinding..

You might think Slater would have cured everyone of the anti-special teamer bias.

I admire Captain's conviction but yea...

Great post.

And, one of the benefits of some recent threads is that I've found out that meaning of the term "research" has evidently changed over the years, I used to think it meant getting an education and reading peer reviewed journals and doing laboratory experiments to prove hypotheses, but nowadays "research" seems to mean....well....I'll let the cartoon speak for itself
Because scientists never get tunnel vision. And once things are "fact" they've never changed.. Except when they have.. Regularly..

For the hell of it..

Really happy to see Cajuste playing well. He's got the length and the strength and was projected to be a starting left tackle in the NFL. Pats got him where they did because he was injured.

Then the opt-out...

But the goods are there to be found, and him coming back after two years off and playing tough, driving hard into the second level...he'll be the back-up tackle, sure, but they've got a potentially good one here.

Heard a clip today - I think it was Bedard - who said that the Pats need to play these young players/rookies more often and just more. For years and years, BB stuck with vets, but that time is over.

I agree. I think we're going to see some real contributions this year from the 19 ,20, and 21 draft classes.

2019: Williams, Harris, Winovich, Cajuste, Bailey, and maybe Cowart (UDFA Meyers, maybe Hall)
2020: Dugger, Uche, Jennings, Onwenu, Herron, Asiasi (UDFA Bryant, JJ Taylor)
2021: Joones, Barmore, Perkins, and Stevenson (UDFA Nordin????????)

That's potentially 19 contributors to this year's team, with a bunch as locks to help barring injury.

The guy couldn't cut it with the Texans, maybe the worse team in the league, but is good enough for the Pats?

Rob Ninkovich. Kyle Van Noy.
Warring was an O'Brien draft pick.. Caserio hasn't been shy about dumping them..

Outside of the two "big" TE signees, who do the Patriots have at the position that are both talented enough to play at a TE3 and capable of remaining healthy?
You think that Warring is capable of remaining healthy? Based on what?

2019- IR - Missed the ENTIRE season.
2020 - IR - Missed 9 games.
